Mitsubishi F-15J

I’m sure it will be updated, at least for the J since there’s an internal bug report for it to have PSP (and presumably also TWS). They were probably focusing on fixing flight performance and adding other things first. Though it does look like the server closes tomorrow, so unless there’s a 2nd dev or they extend it more, we might not see much more changes till live.

I think it was already bug reported:

Why can’t we have a placeholder F-16 radar instead of whatever this is lmao, feels like a F-4E radar

I’m sure the AN/ALR-56M is just a placeholder until the J/APR-4 RWR is added, but is it worth bug reporting the RWR antennas?

Currently they are white/gray, but I believe they are supposed to be black.

Possibly, just so it doesn’t get missed between all the other stuff they’re working on for this update.

I’m quite busy today but it should be as simple as just using pictures to show it if someone wants to report it. If not, I can do it in a day or so.

I can create one and add a screenshot and some images of F-15J’s tails and link here for everyone to add more info if necessary. I’ll edit this post with the link when I create it.

Bug report: Community Bug Reporting System

Feel free to add more reference photos and also describe which antennas are wrong (I think just the top two?)

actually yes just realized it’s using that and not J/APR-4. an/alr-56 was one of the equipment that was not provided when japan received F-15Js I believe

@Nagisei some AAM-3 shots tried to shoot them at high angles not the best examples but that looks sharp maybe it now pulls 40G? what do you think? (sorry for bad quality)

Its also the antenna on the wingtips as well.

Correct, I assume its just placeholder but if someone wants to bug report they can.

they weren’t changed this dev

Those look good, but:

Now I’m confused lol.

they always been that maneuverable essentially

though a lot of those shots a 9M could’ve made just fine

It’s interesting in the other video posted a while back that it pulled the same as a 9M. You’d think it’d pull harder and make shots the 9M couldn’t.

it does pull harder just not that noticeable because the 9L/M are already very maneuverable, most situations the AAM-3 will hit in the 9M will too but since both are relatively conventional missiles they’ll miss similar shots so there is a very small overlap of shots the AAM-3 will still hit while the 9M will miss

You would think it being 40Gs there’d be a bigger difference but I guess that might only come down to IRCCM with the dual-channel, if they model that.

40Gs should make a bigger difference, and the AAM-3 has much better fin AoA (25.08858) than both the 9M(22.5) and R-73(22.5). I assume the issue is with the maximum fin lateral acceleration which is less (37.1989) than the 9M(37.5) and R-73(45) for comparison. It also has a 0.1 less wing area multiplier than both of them as well.

I hope they adjust these values to make its agility noticeably better than the 9M instead of being slightly better.

Is this how fast the fins are able to deflect? If so the AAM-3 should be much much faster than both of those. It uses electronic servos for the fin deflection rather than the hot gas deflection of the AIM-9M.

This also wouldn’t make sense easier considering how much larger the surface area is for the control surfaces.

Report report report!
You can’t report from video comparing both missiles ingame, but if you tell Gaijin that it uses electronic servos, they will acknowledge it and report back with decision

the one in game is the 2000’s J, it has the 220E engines yes

We have pre-MSIP F-15J, so F100-IHI-100 unfortunately. F-15J MSIP has F100-IHI-220E.

Thread from the old forum.
