APG-65 and APG-63 incorrectly giving RWR warning when the shouldn’t during sparrow launch
i looked at the source that everyone claims for the aim120b, but it only specifies as just some generic aim120, is there a solid reason why it could be a b

is there a link to that?
Aren’t AIM-120B’s export variants and as such the only ones Japan could have used?
It should as far as I know, and it should probably be better. I think the F-2 uses this RWR too.
AIM-120B isnt purely a Export variant, its more a direct upgrade of the A, its just very few nations bothered getting the AIM-120A due to initial teething issues and lack of some features (iirc early versions of A lacked DL) so most nations waited for an improved version of AMRAAM which we now know as the B model.
Not sure if they’ve actually gone through with it, but I recall Japan was cleared to purchase AIM-9Xs and AIM-120C-8s a couple of years ago.
Even tho its very basic explanation it will give you a general idea about differences.
This is used by F35.
I seem to have received some information that the AAM4’s total thrust will be increased to 46000N, almost double the original.
Do anyone here have any proof or public documentation regarding when Japan officially switched their F-15J fleet’s engine from F-100-IHI-100, to F-100-IHI-220E. or even just removing the external fairings on the engine (Like the 42-8842 shown in the following photo)

as the use of AAM-3 with Pre-MSIP F-15J “turkey feathers” 100 nozzle in-game is anachronistic since IRL pictures of F-15J that use AAM-3 are all F-15Js with 220E wether they’re MSIP 900 Series or Pre-MSIP 800 series serial numbers.
So, are they better now? Or AIM-120 is still meta?
Generally its about on paar. Some things are better, some worse but everything has improved.
AIM-120 is still meta, the gap is smaller overall but barely. AAM-4 and AIM-120 are still sidegrades of one another
Aim120 still meta, though AAM4 has been greatly improved
AAM-4 is more responsive in closer ranges but slightly slower at longer ranges. Outside of long rage AAM-4 should be better, atleast according to the data I’ve seen.
Right now it seems they’re booth equivalent performance wise. However, the AAM-4 weighs almost double the AIM-120A so it’s a bit harder to justify carrying more weight just to get similar performance. That being said, step in the right direction and I hope they eventually buff it so it’s better.
In addition, it’s only strange because we have both options right now on the F-15J. Later with the F-2 since, as far as we know, it can only use the AAM-4s, it will at least be competitive.
I don’t think we should expect more than that for now, because of balance reasons. Now they are very close to each other, so, yeah, F-2 won’t be weaponless
