Have a Tier 3 Daily Mission - Bird Hunt.
Killed 2 planes with same spaa (BTR 152-D) during the battle but the task pane showed progress of only 1/6. Both kills happened well before the battle ended.
How does this happen?
Wait isn’t the tier 3 Bird hunt to shoot down 4 planes?
The one given to me was 6. Maybe it’s random.
Moot now as over the next 2 battles I got about 8 air kills. Just seemed odd it did not count 1 of 2 from the first battle.

Was one of them a severe damage in some way perhaps?

I don’t recall. I just know that battle screen and battle summary showed 2 air kills.
The player might have left the plane before you shot it down.
Only player vehicles counts.
If that’s the case, that’s a terrible rule.
If I caused enough damage to make the thing unflyable, I should get credit for the kill for the task. It’s goofy I would get in-battle credit but not mission-credit.
