Mission score for bomging AF in Air SB

Hi there! I have been trying to get the fastest way to collect mission scores for the new F16XL event. And I found that bombing AF in air sb is a good way to do so, but I am not sure how exactly the mission score is calculated for bombing airfield.

I flew in Su-30MKK and tried to use 33 100KG bombs but it only gave me 141 points, while 8 incendiary bombs gave me 806 points. Is it related to the total tones of TNT or the number of bombs you drop? What bomb I should choose for this task?

Its a genuinely stupid mechanic.

The amount of damage the bomb deals also has an impact on teh amount earned as well

You’ll have to trial and error which is best for the Su-30MKK. Im also not sure how TV-Guided bombs are classed within the system.

So you might be best off something like 4-6x KAB-500s or 2-3 KAB-1500 and 2-6x ZB-500 or something to game the system.

If on a map with naval targets. Probably wouldnt hurt to fire off a few anti-ship missiles at them, just for easy passive score enroute to target.

As Morvan said,

1. there are diminishing returns - I never bombed airfields, but for base bombing you get maximum score from only taking exactly enough to kill one base

2. the score also depends on the damage - for bases it is worth optimising for a single base, but since the airfields seem to be more “tanky”, they can actually sustain the damage from 8 incendiary bombs (2 are needed to take out a base), so despite the diminishing returns, give more score

the TV/GPS/SALH-guided bombs are calculated the same as the corresponding dumb bomb, and are IMO best used, in this case, for sinking ships on the way… No better anti-ship missile than a 1000kg bomb :D
