TL;DR:
I defend realism.
All the arcade players claim simulation and realism is wrong.
With @HgoDR claiming the simulator playerbase are all noobs.
How is text on your screen saying that you dodged a missile realistic?
I don’t think this change should have been added, and I see no point to it outside of arcade. Speaking of that, has anyone tested to see if it shows up in sim?
Because they intend to cause havoc more than actually providing useful critique. It isn’t realistic, but arguing to the contrary causes ire and that’s their goal.
Then stop arguing the contrary.
Going forward lets leave all personal arguments in PM, And keep threads on topic. This has gone fairly off topic quickly.
@Ion_Protogen
You responded to the wrong person.
That is what I said.
Information after the engagement. AKA information that can’t give them an upper hand.
The literally only change made after clarifying what “it” meant.
So, you gonna keep claiming people are wrong for being critical of War Thunder?
Oh, by the by, this could easily be an accessibility feature for deaf people that can’t know when their RWR stops yelling at them. [not my opinion, just potential plausibility]
RWR is visual, also. Deaf people aren’t inherently bereft of sight.
Customizing where RWR shows up on the HUD would be a better accessibility thing than this IMO.
TBH, this thing can add as different mechanism.
I mean if it is implemented as RIO/WSO voices, it is realistic at the least.
For single seat aircrafts, it shouldnt have ofc.
I think you’re wrong on this because I dodged one kinetically, I watched MSL ping on RWR go right behind me as I heard the missile pass by, then I got the evasion message.
This is a terrible addition.
Should we add a pop-up that tells you when your tank is shot at and missed? Or a pop-up whenever your armor works to neutralize a hit. How about in naval we start giving torpedo evasion and bomb “dodge” pop-ups? Ridiculous.
Just because some players want to jump from zero knowledge of WT into high BR jet gameplay does not require an addition like this.
As a statistical aid/additional reward this is fine, but under no circumstances should you know exactly the instant a missile is no longer dangerous to your aircraft. Give “missile evasion” bonuses when you land or the game ends.
I don’t think this is a good idea, and the player should decide for himself whether the defense is complete or not. Instead of GAIJIN telling you the defense is done. This affects the player’s decision time on what to do next.
Why this pop up? That’s so unnecessary.
If you evaded a missile, you’ll usually hear it zip past you or hit the ground close to you.
In any other situation you’re exploding anyways.
That’s as useless as the hit indicator in Ground RB.
Either you play a realistic game mode or you play arcade…
I did some testing with a friend in a custom it never got it on dodges, only when the missile itself blew up. Flaring, notching and forcing the missile to miss didn’t give me the popup. I am not sure if our testing was flawed or if the system itself is wonky. Still, I would prefer it to not be added regardless, but if it’s only on missile self destructs it won’t really be useful. It would be more annoying, to be reminded of those AMRAAMs you dodges 2 minutes ago.
Just block Alvis. No point interacting
not every aircraft does hav maws
Thats why this change is ridiculous.
However, as I said another posts, It would be fine if it is implemented for only double seat aircrafts.
It would be okey if RIO or WSO tells their voices just like DCS world.
