Mirage IIIS C.70: Alpine Canard Delta

Come tho think about it, the ultimately best solution (and very easily to implement for Gaijin), would be to add the pre-KAWEST Mirage IIIS in their bare metal attire, with the FALCO’s and earlier Flz Lwf LL 63/75 (AIM-9E) the current model has, and no RWR, Countermeasures and canards, and modify the current model to carry the later SIWA models.

The early variant could thus be at 10.3 or even 10.7 as the current model is now, the corrected post KAWESt 85 model could be lifted up to 11.7 or even 12.0 (which should anyway happen if they get the AIM-9P-4/5)…

To be frankly honest. Swiss Tigers F-5E never saw the use of another HUD. Except the one shown here. My neighbour is former Tiger ground crew.

As part of Alps Peace II (1985) not only new units were acquired, but Swiss Tiger F-5E/F were all fitted with an AN/APG-69 Pulse Doppler Radar and civil ILS receiver which can be easily removed in wartimes. I have it written.

Great! So far apart from the website Imentioned I had no “proof” of the AN/APG-69.

So the Peace Alps II was 1985, not 1999? Or were the sharknsoses / LERX only added in '99?

Still, makes zero sense to have the Tiger with modern PD radar in WT (and at 11.3, where allother tigers have the old radar), but with missiles from 75 and 80, whereas all current images of Swiss F-5E’s clearly show the Flz Lwf LL 63/90 and 63/91…

Btw, please support my report oin the missing missiles on the Tiger here: Community Bug Reporting System

Here is what my doc says

Hm, as I understand it Peace Alps and Peace Alps II only referred to the procurrement of the original and additional aircrat, respectively, not the modernisation program (for which I sadly have no name or details, apart from the sharknose and LERX, and that it took place in 1999…)

Hopefully my newly ordered book will shed some light on this…

Awful. Gaijin did worst choice.

A lot of stuff has been reported, so it’s probable things will change before live.

I can’t help but agree.

They should have added Mirage IIIS and IIIS C.70 as seperate aircraft.

Another nag, but i guess we miss a piece

We know for certain that the RWR Unit mounted in cockpit of the C70 Mirage and Swiss Tiger F5 was (is) IP-1310/ALR. But what we don’t know is what receiver unit is installed AN/ALR-66 potentially but not certain because thats the one that should be on the Swiss Tiger F5.

Currently installed on the Tiger is the AN/ALR-46(V3) which IMHO is wrong too.

Currently installed on the Mirage C70, clearly is wrong because it uses the default Dassault.

I’m very happy with how it turned out! = )

They look absolutely beautiful! I’m hoping Gaijin fixes the current skin on the IIIS to at least resemble one of these

A substantial improvement on the default skin

Here we can see in very detail how the TARAN and the AIM-26B Falcon works

Hope that GJ gets this done right

Yes, also wondering how the cockpit will look. I hope they don’t go the lazy way and simply give it the IIIE’s 'pit, as they similarly did with the Squadron Hunter Mk.58…

Right now the Mk58 squadron vehicle got his proper cockpit
The Tiger got the correct cockpit too with build .22
I am optimistic that they will release the proper Mirage and F18 cockpit too for final release.

Really? Cool!

Only checked the new one, which got the correct cockpit as well…
