I totally agree with you. It’s just that I enjoy playing at this BR because it is less chaotic than top tier. Alas they end up pairing 12.0 jets against way better ones like the premium JA37, Su33 and F-14 IRIAF…etc
Yeah, SU-34 is my main experience aside the the JAS-39C. And it awful.

Of course, JH-7 can and will out-dogfight F-1C as well, so the better tactic is to engage a JH-7 with a friendly.

F/A-18A is the only aircraft featuring AIM-7M under 12.7 BR (F-16AJ is 12.7, because of AIM-7M btw)
F/A-18C early is featuring AIM-7P (the closest Fox-1 missile, to be a Fox-3, in USA Side), at 12.7 BR while all fox-3’s are 13.3 minimum (for aircrafts that are as capable in all other departements of flight/fight/avionics)

Mirage F.1 is maybe a good 12.0, but there is plenty of other aircrafts as good, at same BR or lower for some.
F-4EJ Kai being at 12.3 (same BR than F/A-18A btw) doesn’t stand ANY chances against the F/A-18A, while it stands a fair chance vs Mirage F.1
We all know the game is overcompressed,… but Gaijin have been such a delinquent with how they’ve introduced F/A-18A and F/A-18C early in this game!
There is a lot of something, but I’ve recently purchased the plane during the sales, and it is arguably the most balanced plane around 11.x-13.x BR range. 2x Magic IIs are great with their agility and acceleration, IRCCM is helpful when you do rear-aspect (not so well front-aspect), airframe withstands M1.1 at sea level and gains enough speed to reach M1.2 easily above 2-3km.
R.530s are very supplementary as they are not CW but Pulse signal SARH missiles, so even a single pop of chaff deflects the missile. But they are still something when you engage an enemy in the fight from a distance too great for gunfight.
The problem, as it was said billions of times, is the compression. By no means Su-33 with 12-missile loadout of which 8 are R-27ERs should face 12.0-12.3 which have straight up worse armament and/or systems to even engage them. F/A-18s should also not face some 11.7/12.0 planes that can barely do anything to counter AIM-7Ps effectively (there is barrel rolling, but it doesn’t matter if you face 3 premium F/A-18Cs each loaded with 6x of those).
The problem with jet-era is too complex to balance, but lowering this aircraft will only make it worse
7F and 7Ms are identical stat wise, ergo they can be found as low as 12.0 on F-4S. Sure, worse platform and radar, but I suppose that wasnt the point you were going for.

Make specific rules and your BRs to work more like a battlegroup. The armament should dynamically change the BR of the vehicles.
You can’t NOT take to account what armament someone has on … because it’s not like WW2/early jets speed/acceleration/maneuverability. That’s 1/3 of the parts. Now you have electronics/CMs …and guided armament.
still not,… there is differences on how much HOBS you can launched them (5° differences)
they can Re-lock when you lost radar lost and relock yourself (no others got that)
IIRC the difference is 55° vs 60°. Those 5° will never matter enough to jistify treating 7M as entirely different missile.
Sure, that is both convenient and helpfull, but that makes it SARH with DL and IOG, not quasi ARH as it still relies on plane radar to do the homing.

The F1C spam is so egregious that even in my F-14A and F-14B a full BR above it, I still cannot play a low/aggressive playstyle against them in a full downtier. They fill the bracket with IRCCM spam, and you want to put them even lower??
Both the planes you just stated are under-tiered due to compression, so you should be advocating for decompression.
