Hello everyone, and welcome to this new suggestion!
Today, I’m presenting a rather mysterious version of the Mirage 2000: the Mirage 2000C 2, an aircraft of the DGA-EV (French Directorate General of Armament - Flight Testing).
The DGA-EV (for Flight Testing) is a French organization under the Ministry of the Armed Forces responsible for conducting various integration and live-fire tests of weapons. They were notably responsible for qualifying the missiles and bombs now used on the Rafale. This organization owns a number of aircraft to carry out its various requirements. They possess Mirage 2000Bs and Mirage 2000Ns, all modified to perform their missions optimally. Among these aircraft is one that is quite mysterious, with a difficult-to-trace origin: the Mirage 2000C 2. This is a single-seat Mirage 2000C, which makes rare appearances and about which little information is released.
The Mirage 2000C 2 is an aircraft from the first batch of Mirage 2000s (S1 standard), equipped with the various systems of that batch, including RDM radar, but lacking radar-guided missiles. Making its first flight in 1983, the aircraft was quickly made available to Dassault and the DGA (French Directorate General of Armaments) to serve as a test platform for various equipment. It received a flight data analyzer (SNA) under its nose, allowing for continuous analysis of the aircraft’s reactions during tests. The aircraft underwent several upgrades, reaching the RDI standard (S4 standard) and receiving a new engine. It was further modernized in 2019, gaining several dozen kilograms with the addition of new cables to improve in-flight data collection. As a test aircraft, the Mirage 2000C 2 was rarely armed, and therefore few images exist. However, it is interesting to note that the aircraft was tested for the integration of AASM bombs, thus giving it a completely new air-to-ground capability.
The Mirage 2000C 2 was retired from service in 2022/2023 along with the last Mirage 2000C units of the French Air Force. It made an appearance at the retirement ceremony in 2022, sporting a gray camouflage scheme and the DGA-EV roundel. This Mirage 2000 therefore served in the French forces for almost 40 years.

Characteristics
Length : 14.36 m
Width : 9.13 m
Height : 5.2 m
Mass :
* Min : 7.5 tons
* Max : 17.5 tons
The aircraft is powered by one SNECMA M53P-2 jet engine, providing 98 kN of thrust with afterburner, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.2 and an altitude of 18,000 meters.
Equipment
Radar :
- RDI (same as the 2000C S4 and S5 in game)
RWR :
- Serval (same as the 2000C S4 and S5 in game)
Jammer :
- Caméléon
Weapons
Weapons
This variant of Mirage 2000C, although old, can carry the various armaments that have made the reputation of the aircraft
- DEFA 554 canon
AA Missile :
- Matra Magic 1 or 2
- Matra Super 530F or D
Bomb :
- 250 Type 25 bombs
- 250 Type 25 200 bombs
- SNEB type 23
- BLG-66 Belouga
- BAP-120
- BAT-100
The aircraft can also carry the various external fuel tanks found on the other Mirage 2000 vertions.
- RPL-541/542 2000L fuel tank
- RPL-501/502 1700L fuel tank
- RPL-522 1300L fuel tank
In the game, the Mirage 2000 2 would be a completely unique aircraft within the French forces. Possessing air combat capabilities similar to the Mirage 2000C S4 already in the game, its ability to carry AASM missiles would make it an extremely interesting attack aircraft, combining:
– good air performance,
– advanced air-to-ground capabilities,
– a completely unique configuration in the Mirage 2000 lineage. An original, historic, and highly versatile aircraft that would greatly enrich the French tech tree.
