You’re being silly. The D in RDM stands for Doppler.
It is a medium PRF doppler radar, primarly intended for attack aircrafts so with a strong air-to-ground focus.
The ability to guide radar missile was only implemented on the RDM-3 by adding a cw illuminator
Actual aircraft never had these weapons, Yak-141 and German 29’s 27ER…these cases are same.
We cannot deny that Mirage 4000 has received the same “imaginary treatment” as Yak-141, and we can’t refute with those who blame us. We just have to endure, and have fun with Mirage 4000.
I have. No matter what I try, the 530D mostly refuses to work for me - be it in PD, PD HDN or even Pulse. It going off like that is quite rare though, because it usually just explodes into my face. Not sure if this is down to poor modeling, it being French and thus simply refusing to work or me being a sale Boche :D
It’s actually less imaginary. The only thing really disputed is the RDM-3 radar and the S530Ds, which is less of a stretch than the planes you listed, or the F-16AJ, since there is documentation from Dassault that we have submitted showing its feasibility. Even the 8 Magic-II loadout has been photographed in real life, which was used as part of the bug report.
i’ve seen this happen a lot with sparrows and R27s above that kind of terrain, I think the multipathing is exaggerated in those scenarios and causes the vector seen by the missile to be all over the place
Therefore the missile sees a vector straight into space/china for 0.2 seconds, missile predicts that it needs to do a max vertical pull to catch it and before it can correct, the target is out of gimbal
Real life used about 450, but with a majority of chaffs. Considering Gaijing implementation relies usually with more flares, we can expect to see as you said about 250 flares + chaffs in game (as it has already been done). And 250 large CM is far more than enough
56 60mm flares + 168 chaffs per pod.
Gaijin will admit only 56+56 flares, so it will be 112.
Trust me. Tornado’s BOZ have 28 55mm flares and 540 chaffs per pod, but Gaijin only admits 28+28 =56 flares.
They simply worked it around the bug reports, and so, we gave them 2 charts, the 1979 and the 1987 ones. (Still missing 10 dummy bombs / 10xBGL-250 / Durandal bombs (x27)
They choosed to give the 2nd for balance, so that’s realistic.
Also, the dual ventral pod was only possible with S.530F as the length of S.530D is superior.
