Practically the entire missile is new besides the casing. Everything from seeker, warhead, proximity fuse, guidance section, processor, motor, etc is new.

So that in reverse means, only excluding the helmet lock, a magic 2 can simply replace magic 1. Then I’m assured.

Exactly. In order to slave a missile to the HMS, the HMS needs to be able to speak to the missile and vice versa. Nothing tells us the magic 1 actually has the necessary electronics to do that, as the magic 1 and 2 use different electronically architectures

Since they added F16c & mig29smt, i can simply do nothing against them:
530d just blow up most of the time 2sec after launching,
magic 2 dodged so easily,
flares & chaffes do absolutly nothing against aim9 L & M.

20005f at 12.0 is so weak when 2000C-S5 at 11.3 is great. i dont get the point of flying the 5F. ( to give easy kills to others)

2k are too good for 11.3 but not for 12.0 (= sealclubbing vs sealclubbed).

I only play RB. And the mirage 2000 5F ain’t that bad. It’s IRCCM is better than the 9L, so that’s that. The 9M has a very different IRCCM, they can’t be compared just like that.
If you are struggling with dealing with other missiles and can’t get your magic 2s on target, without being a prick, I think it’s a you problem. It’s all about positioning. Get in the 3 quarters back of the enemy, and he is dead meat under 2km. But it’s also the same for you especially against a MiG 29. Aim 9M needs a different strategy to evade, and I would recommend watching a YouTube tutorial for this.
The r530D is about as unreliable as the AIM7M. Mostly only the R27ER is a worthy fox 1 at top tier. I only carry 1 530 because of the random kill I can get against a guy not looking around in the middle of the game (when people get cocky and gain some altitude). My only gripe with the 2000 is the lack of missiles, hence why I was pretty vocal with having at least 8 on the 4000, because I often run out before the half way point of the game

the only issue that i have with the m2k f5 is the amount of missiles(aside from the inconsistency of the super 530d), the plane by itself is pretty capable

i manage to dodge this kind of missiles but only when i fly f16/mig29/f14/phantom/f . But with Mirages, the only few i can dodge are in headons.
i stop because its not related to main topic.
I’d just like to see some other players replays with this 2k-5f. youtube vids are too much “epic” built

The Super 530D is fine. In Kings of Battle devserver they nerfed Mirage 2000 5Fs radar so it can’t lock anything in a meaningful way. Undocumented change. Doesn’t look like they’ll fix it any time soon.

If only I knew about radar performance, I would make a bug report for it, but I don’t even know where to start. Until then, you can consider the Mirage 2000 5F as a radarless plane by 12.0 standards. Way easier to play the Mirage 2000 C instead. Or go for 4 Magic 2s.

I can confirm that S530D is actually fine. The radar however… new update, new problem. This time on Kings of battle the RDY Thales radar from M2K-5F is unreleable.
1)Unreleable Pulse Doppler (normal and HDN mode) lock in Head-on face to face position. Losing lock without moving
2) PD & PD HDN radar picking up on chaffs
3) Breaking lock at the moment the target barely move to left or right. (a simple Roll + S + A/D) make the lock break
4) Normal track mode can sometimes be more efficient then the PD mode against a flaring target.

Hope it’s bug, hope the state of the radar will be fixed because of the nature of dev-server.

Some evidence:

All video are from dev-server. If you need more video for a bug report i have some.

On a side note from the dev server:

  • As expect M4K FM is very good maybe too good. Won’t be surprised if it get toned down. (Same feeling when the F16A block 10 with UFO maneuvers, before it get fixed)
  • M4K state not final (obvious), bug report on the way (as always thanks to bug reporter and people giving enough information)
  • Need confirmation from datamine, but seems magic 2 get a second new buff: no problem to lock under 10.0 km + maybe the coef drag have been (again) tuned up (missile even less draggy), i note some kills at 5km with magic 2 (from side shoot)
  • Even if FM of new aircrafts are very WIP (F-15,Su-27,Gripen, M4K). On the current dev server build M2K is still competitive FM wise (Only Grippen, and M4K was a problem in M2K).
    -As said before Combo RDY thales radar + S530D… please send help (this time the problem is not the missile, but the radar).
  • MAW mechanics for Air RB and SIM will become necessary at some point. Way too much IRCCM now (aircraft with 10 missiles in a 16v16 team matchs, good luck)
  • still no PD TWS (maybe for Fox 3 introduction).

Well check on my own replay server of yesterday, i got many 3 or 4 kills batlles in a Mirage 2000C S5

Is there any sign M2K MAW will be implemented?

hi guys, glad to see lots of reports have been “acknowledged”.
but you guys have been noticed that 4000’s G limit is updated to up to 10G?

its…really unpleasant.
while F-15 wich have same G limit (9G IRL) is pulling 12~14G, 4000 is locked at 10G.
do we have countermeasure about this?
