Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

I thought the Mirage should be able to just point its nose faster than an f16 should just based on it having so much more wing area. Obviously give up all your speed doing so. But I feel an M2K should be able to 1 circle an F16 (for just 1 turn before falling from the sky).

It obviously does not, in WT, but I dont even know if it could IRL

it’s not like mirage 2k isn’t overperforming either.
It got mythical sustained turn

It does especially at high speed.

But so do most modern jets

It should be able too

And yet, it does not, leaving basically 0 defense against F16s.
Ahh well can’t have it all. (except if you are an F16)

depends what f-16 you face

F-16 walks M2K in game yes.

F-16A is cracked

It used to massively overperform at all speeds but the low speed FM was nerfed significantly, bringing it to more realistic levels. However other aircrafts (at that BR) tend to overperform, the F16 being one of them.
Probably also the Mirage 4000 which inherited the old M2K FM on steroids and wasn’t affected by the M2K nerf

Edit : I think the M2K FM change was made using STR charts. It should be correct at basically all speeds. IDK about other metrics tho

Edit 2 : I wish this report to make the M4K completely cracked was passed tho

I’m surprised by the amount of people who saw it ahah. But not by a TM sadly

Just made a list.

I only have the Mirage 2000C-S4 at 12.3

Meaning it can see:

USA:
F16A block 10 (12.3)
F16A ADF (13.3)

Japan:
F16 AJ (12.7)
F2A ADTW(13.0)

China:
F16A MLU block 20(13.3)

Italy:
F16A-ADF (13.3)

France:
F16A (squadron) (12.3)
F16A Techtree (12.7)
F16-OCU (12.7)

Israel:
Netz (12.3)
Netz (mod)

I think the only ones that I could realistically get in a dogfight are the two Netz’s. The rest, I think,
dumpster me

Edit: nevermind the Netz is also a block 10 apparantly so it also destroys me

Yeah, F16A you are cooked. ADF and MLU you can maybe try to get a magic 2 by making them overshoot. Netz you might even be able to get guns on.
Note that the 12.3 F16A are lacking radar missiles. I’ve been playing both the 12.3 and 12.7 f16a (French tech tree, not OCU) and man, the Aim9L are not great. The Aim9M are pretty good, but you have next to no battlefield presence with only IR missiles. As long as you don’t see the higher BR F16 with Sparrow or Aim120, you can just not engage in the dogfight and run (I believe you have a higher top speed ?)

Yeah I will 100% take a headon joust with any F16 that doesnt have AMRAAMS. Sparrows are easily defeated with a barrelroll where the 530D isnt so easy to defeat in kind.

My question was, indeed, if there was anything a Mirage can do defensively against an F16. And the answer seems to, almost always, be: no.

Regarding speed, I dont think theres much of a difference. Maybe if I had the fuel to run to the edge of the map but not in any practical sense.

The Netz is a block 10…

I thought the Netz was the fat one. Maybe that’s the Barak then? Well any block 10 is going to dumpster me. So that then includes the Netz

2000D should have magic 1’s ,super Fs and 11.3 BR? Sounds good

2000D can’t carry radar missiles. The magic 2 has also been it’s primary weapon for longer than the Magic 1

why is it same BR as ones that do then in airRB?
We have ground BRs for air now,…good case right here for slop balance

I think main reason is the great number of cm’s for the 2000D, u can have more than 100 Flares and 100 chaff at that br it make it very good for defend himself.

They will need all the CMs with no radar missiles. Mid FM too vs similar fox 2 only jets around the BR

Very dusty jets.

The CMs number influencing BR… NETZ mod with 180CMs vs the NETZ that has 60. Doesn’t make sense either

Sustained turn is overperforming while instantaneous turn and nose authorithy are lackluster.
I can barely stand winning rate fights against aircraft that would be going for a rate fighting in reality while I would have to go nose to nose.
