better to go for the “pure” SF-1 as it can be implemented for both the -5F and -5EI (they’re the same at that point)
as it will be harder to know about the SF1-C differences in the RDY radar (and so the changes on HUD and Screens).
also because i don’t see Gaijin adding the MICA-IR anytime soon for the Mirage 2000-5F (a thing the -5EI never had, so never will)
and yes, the Vi standard is out of the question,…
Unless, gaijin gets itself a worktime to add Link-16 (and alike) for premade Squad Mates (not for random squads), pushing further the squadplay type of gameplay
I see, for now it seems they’re reserving the Data Link towards top-tier only aircraft.
Anyways, thanks for the information, hopefully it won’t take me an eternity to make a report in regards to the MFD’s of the Mirage 2000, though it isn’t the only aircraft I’ll be reporting in regards to MFD integrations haha.
is currently not a real think,… (at least not the Link-11 / Link-16 / Link-22 / MIDS and alike: that can provide informations and radar cueing)
the only DataLink in-game is the confirming guidance from launching aircraft to the Fox-3 (ARH) missile that goes for a target outside/inside the on-board missile sensor range.
in- game DataLink will provide a better accuracy of Fox-3 missile, and avoid “Blue On Blue” kills
such data-link were on-boards much older aircrafts than Mirage 2000-5F
the in-game DataLink is very similar to the 2T link that you can found about the SM-1 missile:
This is wrong, what was tested was TopSight not a newer generation TopOwl
It would be roughly similar to JHMCS in terms of capability, but we dont really have good info on it so getting this implemented will be… very hard
Probably not a MICA EM against a low flying drone/cruise missile. It’s true that it’s not really possible to know if it’s a magic 2 or MICA tho. Personally I would go with the Magic 2 since it’d make more sense strategically to spend the old missiles on low priority and close targets. We know that MICA (in game) accelerate much slower than it should, so we can’t say that this is Magic 2 because of the insane acceleration. It’s nonetheless interesting to see that this missile turns almost instantly off the rack.
EDIT : Thos it looks like it’s finishing its burn just before impact, so in less. than 3s. It’d point towards the idea that it’s a magic 2 since we know the MICA has a full burn of around 3.5s at least
Ongoing conflict, no politics, you know the drill (and please don’t go in awe on the “almost 100% interception success rate” part like the IRIS-T gang, it’s fired at cruise missiles and drones after all)
With all that being said, it is apparently a Magic II fired on a KH-101.
2 clues :
Magic because of the short burn time as you pointed out
KH101 or some sort of cruise missile, because of the leftover speed from the wreck, and probably not a drone as many think
No weapon is a wonder weapon, especially a decades old missile, that’s to be expected. The main interesting thing to me is the speed at which it starts pulling, which if confirmed to be a magic 2 would also confirm @DirectSupport report on the time it takes to start turning
I put both cruise missiles and drones in the same category because, especially at that distance, those are slow, straight flying targets.
