i had theory of my own, that development of both radar sets were ongoing at the same time, Antilope 5 for the 2000N and Antilope 50/53’s for 2000D
Yes I think that will be the only solution, even the primary sources contradict each other, the extract from the Air Force book that I quoted above announces an Air-Air capability, but the pilots say the opposite, and I even came across an interview with a Squadron Commander announcing that the plane does not have an air-air mode
I must admit that I have not found many French sources talking about the Antilope 50. I have the impression that this name has rather been used by other countries to talk about the same radar.
the “Index of Radar Types included in the Radar Emitter Database” which is made by “Carpenter Data Partnership Group” in 2013 (and which is listed on the wikipedia for the antilope 5) not only mentions stuff like antilope 5/50, but antilope II, IV, V, 50 and 60, but thruth be told, it isnt a french website.
atleast i hope that once the the Antilope 5 will come on live servers, it will get something like TGP slaving to the radar lock or something similar, since some official sources say, that it can also be used for precision weapon firing, currently if you have a radar lock, tgp will not slave to the lock.
I must admit that I have doubts about this site, because even if I believe that the Antelope 50 existed, the Antelope II, IV and 60 seem very doubtful to me.
On the other hand yes, I am like you and I hope that the radar will at least be able to slave the TGP as Thales indicates, I must also admit that I hope for a reduction in BR, because even if it is a good plane, without radar, its effectiveness in air combat will be much more limited (I hope 12.3 or maybe 12.0)
i would say the BR or 12.0 for D R1 and BR of 12.3 for D RMV would be fitting, since both of those got hit with the antilope 5 radar lmao
These Br wouldn’t be too bad
the Antelope II, IV and 60 seem very doubtful to me.
this SS is from the forecast source, which also mentions antilope IV, i would guess that stuff like Antilope II, IV, etc, were just prototypes or test programs, or cancelled programs.
also looks like the Antilope 60 was a proposed PESA variant
(taken from a forum, so give a grain of salt)
also, wasnt there a talk about m2k’s being able to equip the AUF2 pylons on the wings? for the gbu’s or something?
The discussion was whether the aircraft actually had the rack fitted, unfortunately there are absolutely no pictures showing it with it.
i see.
then i guess the only thing for me to hope for is that both of those will get moved to like 12.0 in sim and i can have fun in a2g lmao
I hope so too, anyway the plane was already very good in sim before and should stay that way (except with this Br).
Overall I must admit that I am rather satisfied with the way the plane will be implemented (hoping that the radar will be reworked a little before the release). The weapons are almost all there, there is no invented weaponry (except the PGM, I still don’t know what they are doing there) and the Br is acceptable
its supposed to have it but gaijin doesnt want to give it
i think with the fact that D R1 will get its air radar removed, and rmv will not have air radar aswell, i think for now with only magic II’s they should be at 12.0, as stuff like the new tornado gr 4 is 12.3 on sim, and it has invisible 9M’s compared to the shorter range visible magic II
Hello. I will report it internally.
This would seem logical to me, however it must be remembered that the Mirage 2000 is far superior to the Tornado in terms of flight performance. I think the RMV should be at the same Br as the GR4
From my understanding, the Antilope 50 is an export variant of the V, and I don’t know for the others
There are no pictures at all about this for AUF2. Only thing you will get remotely close to that is this Double-Rack for LGB.
