Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

well in ground rb you aint gonna see much light armored targets, and even then, spaa will shoot it down
and in air sim, first of all its not fire and forget so its almost a death sentence guiding it in, and then there aint much light targets there. if it had GPS capability i could atleast see it being used in ASB ngl

I think that in ASB it can be used, especially to hit the AA of convoys and AI clashes (the precision is supposed to be of the order of centimeters so there is a way to do something)It will just take longer to do damage because we will be limited to one bomb dropped per passage.

hmm, i guess you are right, taking one pylon of those and then the bigger LGB’s to hit armored targets could work, especially since the battles will now disappear in seconds due to the gbu39 and jdams, and convoys are usually not focused on.
But the problem of time still will remain, it will take lot of time to guide a LGB into a target, and then go around and do the same. Gives enemy time to find you usually

That’s the biggest problem. But it is a common one with almost every attack aircraft

It is also ironic that the Taiwanese Mirage 2000 is at the end of the line, if this so, the Taiwanese Mirage 2000 should’ve before J-10 rather than after J-10.

I’m enjoying it while the server dev is open because they usually pay more attention to bug reports and are more likely to make changes.

Should’ve also included for the Mirage 2000-5 which is the most iconic one lol

I specified that this problem is common to all Mirage 2000s.

Thanks, I really appreciate it

Do you know if the missing GBUs have a chance of being added?

In WT a bomb with 10kg of explosive parking itself on the roof of an MBT still has a very good chance of killing it, IRL these bombs are for lightly armoured targets because you don’t expect them to land bang on the thing every time.
Outside of fast moving targets, these might give endurance to the M2000 as a CAS plane.

i’ve seen basic T72’s with no era armour survive gbu 12 right in front of them or right on their roof, i would only assume that lower explosive mass = higher chance of that happening.

Personally, I think Mirage 2000D RMV from dev server before Mid-Life upgrade (MLU) program

Mirage 2000D MLU change gunpod and next gen target designator pod

RMV mean MLU in french

No. Additionally do you have any source for the improved gunpod? Because as far as I know DEFA 550 F3 ( DEFA 553 ) has been used for it. Nothing else

Mirage 2000D RMV is the Mid life upgrade, RMV stands for Rénovation Mi-Vie and it translates to Mid-Life Upgrade.
As the guy who talked about the Gunpod which 2000D RMV carries, so called CC422, has Defa 550 F3 inside, which is also called Defa 553.

As to TGP, the RMV programme, aimed to replace DAMOCLES targeting pod, for Thalios TGP.

Why are the Chaff only dispensers on the Mirage 2000 only limited to 45 chaff? Arent they supposed to have more chaff?

they very much are missing a decent amount of chaff, but we dont deserve that
