France was really popular after the Mirage 2000C-S5 for a little over a month. Lobbies full of these things, win rates over 80%. It was a time that I thought France finally had some recognition (despite Defyn insulting it, lel).

They tuned the instructor, it has now a pretty unrealistic energy retention (like the gripen) for a delta wing. The way to use it against a f16 for example will be significantly different, but the mirage can still defend itself compared to the initial change where you had 1 turn to not die

F-16 for example doesn’t quite have the high alt performance aircraft such as SU-27, F-15 or Eurofighter enjoy.

This is because the F-16 wasn’t designed for that… simple. Realistically those conditions aren’t very useful for the game ATM. Maybe the meta will shift at some point.

The M2K for example has variable intake ramps, F-16… No… So engine suffers at these conditions.

Disregarding the way things work in game that was my point precisely.

Anti radiariin missiles will be straight downgrade from what we have. The only one relevant is gonna be sidearm since it might be lower br

France is still absolutely slapping with the SC4 and SC5. Alot of my games It’s always one or two players getting 3 to 5 kills in the plane.

The magic 2 has on par off the rail maneuverability as the R73 with way better IRCCM… if they had a HMS it would be ludicrous.

The 530Ds actually extremely effective and better than the AIM7F/M. They still go stupid on occasion but so does everything except the R27R/ER

It’s also easily the best manuvering fighter in its BR bracket, most of the aircraft it faces don’t have a chance, the only planes that i struggle against in a dogfight is the F16.

the magic 2 and R73 have exactly the same IRCCM as of now (unless they changed it and I missed it but I think it would have gone unnoticed) meaning it currently way underperforms if that can help you :)

Seeker gatewidth on the Magic 2 is superior to that of the R73 is it not?

I thought It has a smaller pre launch fov and a smaller post launch FOV, and the flare rejection is much more reliable in game.

It’s still underperformed as it should have additional irccm capabilities not modeled in game.

only a smaller prelaunch

You don’t need to convince me lol, my highest kill rates are with the Mirages. There just used to be a lot more people playing it before. CCs complaining it only has 4 missiles did not understand these 4 missiles were all you needed at the time. This was also just prior to 16v16 now that I think about it.

From my experience, the R73 performs worse, and is the worst IRCCM missile currently.

It feels like that due to the range and acceleration.

Yeah but at that time, Mirage 2000C-S5 isn’t as powerful as today, it’s performance was adjusted with meta at that time (like the average top speed at that time was around 1400 km/h). That’s why eventhough F-14A are absolutely game changer, it’s flight performance pretty much similiar with other aircraft, yes it had great turning speed (but so does MLD right?).

With the current meta, and in the upcoming update, AFAIK, only Mirage 2000 (even Mirage 4000 don’t have this) that has the lowest drag in top tier aircraft, only F-16C comes close to this (but of course F-16C downside is its fuel hungry engine). So that’s why I think Mirage 2000 is even greater than before now.

It’s obvious because R-73 pre-IRCCM FOV is the same as R-60M, it is why it performs worse, and your ping also determine your luck, if you had high ping like mine (I always got average 250 ping), you’re always losing to pre-flaring spam clowns who are always 0,2 seconds earlier than your missile launching. To compensate this problem, I usually launch R-73 in an impossible angle, and Magic 2 launching from either surprise POV (so it missile diamond disappear but also still maintain good energy), or from rear aspect.

It doesn’t because in a pre launch FOV, it’s literally a Magic 1, when it’s launched then it’s Magic 2. If Magic 2 IRCCM got buffed, I guess it wouldn’t change how its initial FOV works, but indeed when it’s successfully launched, it becomes a literal TY-90 with crazy acceleration.

Almost all of my IRCCM shots are rear aspect, which is where I base my observation. My ping is either 70 or 160 depending on server, so it’s not so much a ping issue for me. R73s have been less successful in these shots and gets flared more often even post launch. Magics have been much nicer to use even though I have to get closer to the target, not like it’s hard to with the Mirage 20000

No, however both underperform in-game. They should be lower than 0.5°

And also the fact that preflaring is too effective right now. Currently people spam flares soon as a Mirage or Mig-29/Su-27 is 2km behind them in anticipation of missile launch. Making FoV reduction occur before launch would be great.

I think preflaring should remain a viable tactic for the time being.

The magic2 is already quite resistant to it as the seeker happily ignores flares in close range rear aspect shots pre launch

yes i saw those 2 reports and in the beginning of the dev the mirage was awesome but towards the end of the dev the made it worse than it was before
on the last 5 days when the dev was open when i was dogfighting with one of my friend in customs
they made the mirage retain too much speed at mach 0.8 and the instructor was not as responsive as it used to be at lower speed

It was tweaked again in like the last 2 or 3 days of the dev server, to be much more responsive.
