Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

AS30L has been the working the same way forever, few patches ago they added visual spin. NOTHING CHANGED

Did the M2KC-S4 use Exocets?

No Mirage carried Exocets, the Exocet is only used by the French Navy in French Service. Currently the only exocet carriers we have in-game atm is the SuE, until the Rafale comes along.

So, if there is a M2K variant that is to get the Exocet in-game, it would have to be a foreign one equipped with the RDM radar?

Doesnt the Argentinian used the Super Étendard with Exocet during the Falkland war?

well, the Royal Navy seems to have liked argentinian Exocet on their ships ^^
the Exocet has been widely exported around the world, they also served in the Iran-Irak war

facts are : there is exported Mirages that got Exocet : Irakian Mirage F1EQ or Greek Mirage 2000-5 per example

I said in French Service, not in general service, not once did I say that the French were the only ones who used the exocet. Which is why what Favnir said is correct, the only way we’d see a Mirage with the Exocet would be a foreign one.

Unless ofc they do the same thing they did with the current 2000-5F and give it more weaponry that the French didn’t actually use on the aircraft.

Like I said, the only exocet carrier in-game at the moment is the SuE(Super Etendard), for the French at least.

The mirage 2k-5 can carry the Exocet missile. They just don’t need to. Only the Greeks that use the M2k over the sea as navy aircraft are equipped with the Exocet in service but all M2k-5 can use the missile.

Greek M2k:

Edit: the Greek models are called the M-2K EG and the M-2k EGM but it’s still a M2k-5

So wrong,…

Mirage 2000-5 mk2 is the only Mirage to have been fitted with Exocet, but it still is able to do it.

And those are french markings

The greek use export variants of the C, no? But with RDM radar

They have both “-C” with RDM, and “-5 EG”

So those Greek ones with AM.39 Exocet are -5 variants.

Greece bought M2Ks at the end of the 80s, and as the -5 was developed in the 90s, these would have been -C’s. But are -C’s equal of -5’s? Forgive me, i am not familiar with the designations for the Mirages

Then the inital batch was upgraded to use Exocets (amongst other ordnance) during the 90s, and received the EGM designatons. And then a purchase of -5mk2’s in 2000, with a upgrade of some of the existing fleet to the mk2 standard.

10 C’s were modified to -5 mk2 standard (n°511, 514, 527, 530, 534, 535, 536, 540, 543 and 545)

But 10 more -5 mk2 were bought and completely new. (N°546 to 555)

And 5 biplace -5 mk2 were bought (505 to 509)

I don’t know the exact upgrades of C’s to -5 mk2, but let’s say only the 15 new aircrafts were able to use AM.39 Exocet

About French Armée de l’Air, the current -5F batch seems to be previous to Mk2 standard,… yet the DGA use several variants to make it up to Mk2 standard.

F1 mirage carried Exocet on Iraqi army.

Those were Mirage F.1EQ,… far away from the CCT or C-200 we have in game.

Okay, now i am on-board. Thanks!

But then it would not be wrong if a Hellenic M2KC with a RDM radar, in HAF known as a M2K-EGM (pre mk2 upgrade), could carry an Exocet?

Blockquote I don’t know the exact upgrades of C’s to -5 mk2, but let’s say only the 15 new aircrafts were able to use AM.39 Exocet

This upgrade was the one in the 2000s? Not the Talos one.

The Standard -5 mk2 might mean that RDM was replaced by RDY-2 (which is fitted with A-G modes)

I’m no specialist of greek mirages.

And pakistani Mirage V’s with Agave radar

Beeing trying my hand at manual lofting on the Mirage 2000c
It never really worked on the AIM-7/Skyflash due to the missile turning too agressively towards the target in the early stages of flight, but the R530D seems to be a lot better in this regard for distant targets, while still being agressive for close range shots.

A 20 to 30 degree manual loft massively increases the chance of a kill at the same or greater ranges…

ANother thing I have noticed recently, the matchmaking preference has singificantly improved for france at 11.7 again to how it was before the top tier BR changes.

The majority of aircraft you face right now don’t even come close in BVR or dogfights.

F-16’s and gripens still outright outclass you in every regard, but I haven’t seen a single up tier in the last 30 battles.

I’ve not even seen a single F-15 in the last 15 games or so and only a couple of F-16A’s and one Mig-29

90% of the battles are full of premium MIg-23’s and Phantoms
