Then is there any proof of it being equipped on an F-15 in the 90’s?
From the article, “Eighteen F-15C aircraft will be modified with an APG-63(v)2 active electronically scanned array radar using APG-63(v)1 radar components.”
This suggests no F-15C at that point had been modified with the radar.
Making statements such as " X radar is better than Y radar" without data is pretty useless…
Additionally I believe there is a dedicated Rafale thread if anyone has technical data on the Rafale radar it would be a good place to post it for the future addition of the Rafale to WT
Correct 18 F-15Cs, a squadron, will be operationally capable by the end of December 2000. That is the only definitive I have found. However, knowing what we know about how US procurement, R&D, T&E given they announced this decision in December of '99, they had to have equipped F-15s prior to 2000 for testing and flight validation
There seems to be multiple accoutns regarding the (V)2
Contract for (V)1 was awarded in 1997 apparently while full production started 2002.
If we disregard Wikipedia, GlobalSecurity etc. there still is this. The 2000s sector would be of interest.

I’d say at that point it’s not a 90s radar anymore in anything beside technicallity. Especially if there are procedures as combat ready status etc. coming into play.
RDY entered service in 1994 if Wikipedia is to be believed. That is what I’d call a 90s radar.
It’s as much a 90s radar, as the Rafale is a 90s fighter.
I hope Mirage 2000H and Mirage 2000I from Indian Air Force (IAF) coming to war thunder in the future
Mirage 2000H
Mirage 2000I
A UAE Mirage 2000-9 could be a nice premium or squadron vehicle at some point. Since we just got the S4 as a event vehicle that option likely is out for the forseeable future.
2000-9 would probably be best as a premium with a Greek 2K as a squadron vehicle.
Regarding the Indian ones one ahs to wonder wether there will be a Indian tech tree or not.
An Indian Mirage would be interesting as it brings R-73 and Israeli air to ground weapons.
You sure it had R73
Rafale was tested in the 90s but entered service in the 2000s actually.
Just like the radar in question.
So it’s a 2000s radar after all…
Yes
Picture included
Did you read the origin of my comment at all? About the Rafale having a better radar with its PESA than the F-15?
It isn’t IRL
Interesting that would be a nice event to whoever gajin decides to give it to
@POLYDEUCES I can’t think premium pre-order pack fighter aircraft to rank 8 (11.7 ~ 12.7 BR) with aviation rank 9 for france in the future
I guess Mirage 2000H & Mirage 2000I from IAF could be to UK tech tree at rank 8 if Australian & Canadian move to future Independent Canada tree with an ANZAC sub-tree
It’s probably Mirage 2000I with Israel DASH helmet mounted sight, Rafael Litening laser designator pod and Isreal domestic Air-to-Ground munitions (Elbit & Rafael)
Even the 1980s version of Foxhunter (Tornado F.3’s radar) had an LPI mode, and it was apparently one of the few things on the radar that actually worked well, at that stage.
