Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

Well the 530D still has a drag problem unfixed so…

Now that Mirage 2000C-S5 is going to BR 12.0, will devs revisit it getting 4x Magic 2s loadout? @Smin1080p

The issue is that i saw nothing about a modernization of the engines, so it is likely still the older M53-5 : it become the main difference, and it’s still a major one.

You should use this as a source than Wikipedia since it’s the most accurate source on the Mirage 2000s that you’ll find: 5.4 MB file on MEGA

no it can’t : Magic-2 you know? the one missile that can’t go below certain BR, as it was the same for Magic-1 not far ago (apart the A-5C as it was a premium, you know)

not the good question – is the Mirage 2000C-S4 gonna sent to 12.0 with it? since they basically share everything apart slight modifications?

currently i’m more thinking that Gaijin will add some Rafale M F.1 3/6 months after they add MICA-EM to 2000-5F (which is the ultimate model of M-2000’s)

That’s a different question though. If S4 also goes to 12.0, I’ll ask for 4x Magic loadout for it as well. Atleast if S5 gets 4x Magics, then it justifies S4 staying at 11.7.

Probably not anytime soon for Rafale F.1. Consider that Mirage 2000-5F still has some more options in terms of upgrade before we see Rafales.

The RDY radar can still be buffed with automatic mode which is coming, the Magic 2s can be significantly buffed to 50G with AIM-9M type IRCCM added to it. The Mirage 2000-5F can also get MAWS added. There’s still several options to buff the plane considerably before we can ask for the Rafale. When they add the option to separate flares and chaff, the Mirage 2000-5F will again get more CMs.

So here’s the list of upgrade options left for M2K-5F:

  1. MICA EM addition (as well as any buffs that come for it afterwards)
  2. Magic 2 buffs (50G, lower ifov, lower guidance delay, seeker-shut off irccm)
  3. MAWS addition
  4. Countermeasure amount increase (once separate flares/chaff buttons are added)
  5. RDY radar buffs (addition of TWS PD, automatic mode, air to ground modes)
  6. Loosening the flight model instructor again (Flight model buff)
  7. Internal jammers (once jamming is added)
  8. MICA IR potentially (if it’s not locked behind the Rafale instead).
  9. Wing fuel tanks

And I imagine devs will do the above to keep the 2000-5F competitive before adding Rafale.

This also means that Mirage 2000-5F will keep going up in BR over time keeping in pace with newer planes that get added, just as how the Mirage 2000C went up in BR now from 11.3 to 12.0 (planned), although will be more drastic with the Mirage 2000-5F, could easily go from 12.0 now (12.3 planned) to 13.7 in the future. Mirage 2000s also have internal jammers so it does not need to carry jamming pods as it has it inside the plane once jamming is added. Jamming pods take up a pylon, have weight and cause drag, and Mirage 2000s would forego those negatives.

I would not be surprised to see Mirage 2000-5F fighting early Eurofighters, later F-15s/F-16s and etc. once they implement all of these buffs.

and MICA-IR (M2000-5F standards SF1-IR and later)

I know, but the Mirage F1 have them at 11.3, so it would not be absurd to have a Mirage 2000C-S3 sitting at 11.7. And as the document provided by @DirectSupport (thank you btw ^^) say, theses S3 were upgraded with the RDI radar.

So we can have at 11.7 a 2000C-S3 with just a worse engine when compared to the S4, the small decompression that is planned right now can allow this.
Although it is a bit unlikely to see it, given the fact it would be a filler, there is still the possibility of seeing it coming as a premium or a squadron aircraft, it’s in competition for that with exports variants like the greek one.

That too if they don’t lock MICA IR behind Rafale, so imo, the Mirage 2000-5F hasn’t unlocked more than half of its potential still.

I think though, that they’ll reserve MICA IR for Rafale, they’ll also likely reserve ASRAAM for Eurofighter and not Tornado. So IIR missiles locked behind new airframes.

I personally would like to see Mirage F1 have its Magic 2s removed and dropped down to 10.7, and then Mirage 2000C-S3 upgrade added at 11.3 with Super 530D and Magic 1.

would be real sad Mirage F.1 then,… and no please,…

At 10.7, the Mirage F1 airframe would be a very competitive dogfighter. Right now, the missiles (Magic 2) puts it in a BR where the airframe is outdated.

Consider that part of the reason developers have still not buffed the Magic 2 is because the missile is on the Mirage F1 airframe, and they wish to keep it at 11.3. Removing the Magic 2 from Mirage F1 would allow for the Magic 2s to be buffed without consideration of balance. Otherwise more buffs would mean the Mirage F1 overtiered to 11.7+

“Cough-cough” - No,… it is NOT a dogfighter,…
everything in 10.7 is already more capable dogfighter than Mirage F.1
if it does goes by Magic-1 (which is only have 2) then it is as good as mirage 3’s in effectiveness.

R.530 IR of S.530F may help a bit (and i’m still doubting about it).

but Mirage F.1 is not a Dogfighter. (even F-4C would beat it on deck,…)

EDIT Statcard of both F-4C (26 seconds) and F.1C (27 seconds) and both are fully modified.

Mirage F1 still has better SARHs than Mirage 3s. It can also use 4 missiles compared to 3 on the Mirage 3. Further, the Mirage F1 has a lower stall speed than Mirage 3s and can use that effectively in dogfighting. Mirage F1 also has a great topspeed.

But the biggest consideration is that it needs to have Magic 2s removed so Magic 2s can be reserved for the Mirage 2000 platform and be buffed.

5 and i would prefer to rely on R.530 IR than those S.530F
