Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

22-25G, enhanced seeker, low smoke motor for the C variant, drastically improved time to target and range performance courtesy of reduced drag coefficient and possibly a increase in thrust. The missile should peak at mach 6 in optimal launch conditions.

There are a lot of enhancements that might be drip fed like Magic 2s. @DirectSupport is correct… @Smin1080p is wrong. The devs absolutely nerf / balance stuff by picking and choosing which reports to fix and when.

In some cases they copy the data for stuff based on the most well sourced stuff around. Examples are the PL-8 / Python 3 using the AIM-9L seeker. The magic 2 having similar overload based on speed as AIM-9L for such a long time… The Super 530 series on the other hand doesn’t copy the performance of similar time period seekers from the US even though we know their equipment to generally be ahead technologically… This is intentional until sources prove otherwise and then delayed on purpose as well.

@Gunjob’s post on the automatic waveform management for the Tornado reminded me that we also finally got it for the Mirage 2000-5F.

They finally implemented automatic waveform management for the Mirage 2000-5 (not fully, they’re 90% of the way there though).

If you’re in TWS HDN and you lock someone that’s further than 60km away, it’ll lock the target in PD HDN Front-Aspect

If you’re in TWS HDN and you lock someone that’s closer than 60km away, it’ll lock the target in PD All-aspect

If you lock someone that’s more than 60km away, it’ll lock the target in PD HDN (front aspect) but then as soon as the target comes within 60km, the radar will automatically switch over to PD All-Aspect for you.

Here’s an example of how the radar automatically switched from PD HDN to PD when the target came within 60km.

Even the HMD has its own automatic waveform management.

The only thing missing for the automatic waveform management is for them to implement TWS PD, so that the radar can automatically switch from TWS HDN to TWS PD for you.

Can’t believe TWS PD (AUT?) still isn’t here

I think it’s right around the corner, wouldn’t be surprised if we get it this patch. Hopefully by June at the latest.

Funny enough, the dev server isn’t using the new model yet

I love how it is just smaller Super 530D :D

Cursed to live in the CDK for months/years lol

I would temper expectations on the MICA IR, its likely it was cheaper to get both MICA modelled at the same time.

They would definitely have to nerf it heavily regardless for it to be added now so def gonna be a while

I guess in the future gaijin might consider nerf MICA IR flare resistant same Python 4

Thats what im thinking as their is no way they are adding aim9x soon

That and even magic 2 isn’t completely modelled

Do someone finds the Magic 2 is weird since few days? It feel like it isn’t pulling any Gs and it is moving in “waves”… It can’t even reach planes 2 km from me… did I do something wrong in the parameters?

On dev server or live

It’s strange, it’s been like two days since it started, before I had no problem it was pretty reliable…

Try the new Magic 2 on dev server and see what you think of it.
