Interesting… phrasing
Just the BR logic, I guess, I imagine that 14.0 BR is justifiable by something. Be it exceptional avionics, exceptional FM or exceptional weapon loadout, or some combination of all.
Mind you, i agree there are many examples that does not belong to the current BR’s, its just the thread is about 5F, so I benchmark it against its closest competition, that largely hangs in 13.7, when the plane actually gets played in Sim. That usually Happens once in the Sim EC BR rotation, when 14.0 sits at the top dog.
This is also what give the 5F better than usual performance in stats, as many big-dink PVP players put down their 13.7 toys to fly the MICA dispenser. Since average rifraff that farm ground or grind in Sim for RB don’t touch the 5F, it stats tend to get inflated.
I still dont get why you think it is advantage to have no launch limit missile on 60 degree gimbal plane but whatever :D
If you have your track at 60 degree, just fire the MICA. But you do you.
- up to 90 degrees (if you do the gimbal trick), and 2. Because I the instant I got the lock, I can yank back into the defensive and launch my missile? While any other plane would have to fire as is which is extra time spent vulnerable?
Yet many well known duelists pull back into the notch before firing… curious? Because with MICAs, there’s no delay to this, you can pull right back at the moment of lock. With any other missile at or below this BR you have to hold this angle until the the missile physically leaves the rail. There’s a hard coded delay between time of lock and missile launch. The point of the TRK mem trick is that you can use this delay to go into the defensive with a mica plane. You can’t with an aim-120A/B/C / R-77 / PL-12 plane
For non mica planes at or below the BR, you literally cannot launch at all if you leave the FOV range. MICA can.
You can argue about “inherent EC nature” that’s not the point. On a missile performance wise, this advantage is enough that people that are better than you and I and kill each other for GE professionally choose MICA over the other missiles.
sooo… you are, on purpose, making your launch parameters worse?
okki, you do you.
If you can’t understand that being in a notch is a good thing, that’s your issue. I love how I clearly explained about the launch delay and the advantages of being able to immediately go defensive during that small delay and you just glossed over it.
Yes, having to stay within 55 degrees of gimbal while your missile spurs up is a disadvantage. Shocking i know. Meanwhile that mirage you’re fighting against is already sitting in the notch while the mica is leaving the rail going at you, leaving you with a smaller defensive window.
And remember that “big aoa” from before? M2k can just use that to quickly dip long enough to hold a track (but not enough to fire any non-mica) dip right into the notch, then fire
You personally might not use this, and that’s fine. But don’t act like its a non-advantage when it’s used for the past year now. Which conveniently is also:
look, lets get down to basics, missile joust in RB are clearly different than I can imagine. And i am not very good RB player. So i am not going to comment what good RB duelist does or does not.
My arguments were, again, made about 14.0 status in Sim, against opponents that have better airframes, better avionics and now hugely upgraded close range HOBS capability missiles. Current MICA is not enough to carry 5F in ways it used, when getting under 5km in 5F meant automatic MICA pegging. As currently even 120’s is perfectly capable pegging back.
Again, the whole range of 13.7 (and the premmy flankers from 13.3) and 14.0 range needs decompression and rework, and current 5F is just not what it used to be pre fox3 changes.
I’ve laid down my reasoning, I clearly stated that this comes from Sim point of view, and in my humble opinion, 5F as it is currently, does not justify its position in 14.0, when planes much more capable than it is, sits at 13.7.
These were examples to highlight missile advantages regardless of mode. In a joust scenario, the plane that spends less time exposed to enemy missiles are at a better advantage.
Which like I said, every F-16 is essentially sidegrade or worse than the 12.3 one. Every F-15 is worse than the F-15A. Even Gripen C is slightly heavier than gripen A. Only “objective upgraded” airframes here are the Su-27SM and J-11B.
See below:
One point I’ll agree with.
See below:
Let’s just end it on this. We both agree decompression is needed. We won’t be agreeing about M2k’s performance. There’s no point dragging this further. Let’s just put it on a good note rather than spending another hour of back and forth.
But, there is better, upgraded airframes, also you missed some :^)
Isn’t this kind of, given, by default? I gave you my opinions, not proclamations of truths from mt Ararat.
… Not really? Like I said, the majority are sidegrades or even downgrades to lower br counterparts. The only exceptions would be the flankers and the migs. Maybe hornets (C gets better engines).
Yeah, sure, 5F is anyway acquired taste and flown by few in Sim, as 14.0 days are only time the thing gets taken out of its garage anyways.
The only thing that would lead to a BR rework for this aircraft would be turning it into a real 5f : remove the R550 from the central pylon (and probably the 530d too)
Remove all the air to ground capabilities (maybe add the Hammer without laser designator if you want to represent the “2000-5FU” ) and make a separate 2000-9 (premium?) which would essentially a copy paste of the current 2000-5f (except for the air to air department)
Well, did not get it moved to 13.7, but got 13.7 moved to 14.0.
Im ok with this :DDDDD
yep, made it op
