Mirage 2000-5F at BR 14.0: Is its current placement still appropriate?

The better seeker is also important to note

Id disagree there, a slow launched AMRAAM, especially if that is low alt too, is extremely easy to defend against. In something like the FA2, Im rarely firing past about 10-15km and thats at alt.

Heck, Typhoon at Mach 1.7, at 20k ft, rarely connect at a target in a headon at 25km.

No, ive seen MICA kill just fine at 15-20.

Uh… MICA can be fired in very high HOBS at targets 10-15km and still kill without issue. AMRAAM sometimes misses clean shots.

No?

F-2A is far from mid and mostly suffers from the fact that it cant carry more than 4 fox 3 but despite that it still is a great jet at its br plus you have the best radar at the br and a much better fm
the same goes for the gripen c for the exception of the radar
though i can agree that the su 27sm is good at it br over all i dont think its the best but it is one of the best
f15j is also a good contender

better fm specifically for duels
in air rb at that br it is simply too slow

Not to mention the low Fox-3 count and lack of HMD are massive downsides

Su-27SM completely touches every 13.7 plane with no mercy

Best missile kit of the br
Great fm
Solid radar
Solid defensive kit

nothing really comes close at the br

Prior to Gaijin murdering PL-12s the J-11B would’ve been on par with it. I also prefer pre nerf PL-12s and in many cases even Aim-120s over R-77s. I find their lack of range quite poor if you don’t want to get super close. (Either way, the Su-27SM/F-15s/J-11B (providing PL-12s are fixed) should all be 14.0.

As for the Mirage 2Ks, they can’t go up because of a weak FM/radar, and they certainly can’t go down because they are better than or equal to every 13.7. Also can Gaijin please not lock MICAs behind a 80k rp mod on the Taiwanese one.

I love it. I think its my most consistent 13.7 jet. Altrough most 13.7 jets are well balanced imho, except the block15 F-16’s which sucks… The gripens are kinda meh but still workable

yeah its specifically good in duels but its still really good in air rb
its not that slow
yes the lack of hmd is downside but its manageable and the same goes with the low fox 3 count

the missile kit and the defensive kit are in my experience the only good things i can give it
otherwise the f15jm and c, f2a and gripen c are better in their own ways
i would put the j11b and j -10a but because of the pl 12 nerf they cannot compete

27SM was still better pre-PL-12 nerf

That takes around 25 seconds to connect.

Aight

Yes and for majority of the last year before addition of AESAphoons, rafale bwing the most dominant plane in terms of KpS and KpD was because of…flavor of the month, i guess?

The performance gap was much closer back then. Considering that 11B has 15km MAW and more user friendly radar they were closely matched until the merge where SM would take the lead due to R73s and 77s being better CQB tools than PL8B and 12s.

J10A, when played correctly, was much more potent though. With 85° radar gimbal you could really push those PL12s to its limits and can sit behind the SM past merge.

Mirage 2000-5F at BR 14.0: Is its current placement still appropriate?

Yes.

Next step is decompression to move it and 14.0+ away from 13.0

It’s a 13.7 made 14.0 because of player skill.
Why play Mirage 2000 when I can play a superior F-15JM at 13.7?
Not as good in boom-zoom WVR attacks, but I’m already not doing that at these BRs anyway.

Overall, the other 14.0s are better at everything except the missiles. (EDIT : I forgot the excellent RWR + MAW suit that gives better situational awareness compared to other 14.0 however). Having 6 MICA simply can’t justify any lower decrease however (meanwhile a 2 MICA platform like the Mirage F1 would be 13.3 probably in the current BR compression land). What the aircrafts around d 13.7-14.0 need is more decompression, just like 12.0-13.3 planes. In general, the Mirage 2000-5F is I would say one of the harder 14.0 to master, but one of the more capable under the right hands.

TL,DR, top tier should be 15.3 or 15.7 and the Mirage 2000-5F would be perfect at 14.3-14.7 (still allowing some full up tiers to top tier but not being in full top tier BR)

Thanks for your replies.

But I’m wondering which Mirage F1 you’re referring to; as far as I know, the only ones equipped with MICA missiles are the Mirage 2000-5F and the Rafales. The F1s sit at BR 12.0 with Magic IIs. There is also the potential for the Mirage 2000D RMV to receive the MICA IR (though not the MICA EM, which isn’t in the game yet); that said, it could receive both of those missiles in place of the Magic IIs, moving it to BR 12.7.

Which game mode? RB? SB?

To start: BVR genuinely does not matter in this game, the end-all-be-all for the vast majority of missiles in the game is close range acceleration and turning. Because defending against BVR is so easy, the majority of kills will occur at shorter ranges where the target does not have the time/maneuverability/speed to successfully defend against missiles. This is the reason why the MICA-EM and R-77/R-77-1 are some of the best missiles in the game, since they have incredibly strong off bore performance and time to target at close ranges.

Since the MIrage 2000 is incredibly good at maneuvering and flicking the HMD onto the target for an extreme HOBS launch, a MAWS and a ton of chaff, and the MICA-EM, it’s far too powerful to face a lot of lower br(12.7-13.0) aircraft where they are unable to win even with a positional & awareness advantage.

Ah, I see, but it doesn’t exist in the game yet, so I won’t take it into account for now—especially since the topic has been around since 2023 and the devs still aren’t talking about it.

BVR works very well in the Air Sim mode
