Probably for the pylon between nacelles. Iirc Indian 29Ks were upgraded with this pylon being able to carry stuff other than drop tank. Would make sense to incorporate it into 35 design.
while not the best source, yefim gordons book mentions it being able to mount one kab-1500 under each wing, which seems plausible since the mig-35 has a payload capacity of 6500kg

I’ve always found it weird they got rid of the 8x r-77 loadout after the 90s mig-29m
It might do something with wing folding mechanism. Could be too much stress on the joint if you put something heavier than R-73 there. The only 8xR-77 airframes were the ones with regular wing, not the naval one.
that seems realistic, but the 9.31 can mount 8x R-77s for some reason
i thought even the land based mig-35 and second iteration mig-29m can’t run 8x r-77 like the k versions.

Only 90s version (9.15) has the non-naval wing design. And consequently every MiG-35 proposals based on one of the prototypes of 9.15. You can see the difference if you look at flaps (naval wing has bigger flaps, 9.15 flaps are on the same line as ailerons) as well as small protrusions where folding mechanism is located.

ah that makes sense then.
though, low k that means the mig-35 (154) built from the 9.15 air frame will be the literal best of all worlds other than not having TVC like 156
yeah, just hoping we can get the #154 suggestion passed to the devs sometime in the future so we can have any chance of seeing it in game

Bruh why do all fulcrums look like 3rd gen airframes? Even the new ones, they look so much less clean than the flankers
From that close it’s crazy how uneven the surfaces look
MIG breau is so low on budget they can’t even polish their Fulcrum’s.

Who cares about 35 I want my 156 prototype.
35 will most likely be DOA just like super hornet, btw if you guys care about your sanity dont make the same mistake i did and stay away from Super Hornet.
Im currently spading it and getting more close to loosing my sanity with each match.
