SMT one is an upgrade. But by most part as kizvy said - biggest difference is lock range.

Asking for a friend, is there any reason why MiG-29SMT has the best IRST compared to other comparative Russian Jet? I thought Su-30SM would have the same IRST as SMT.

Well I’m definitely NOT an expert of this, but from the looks, 29-SMT and 30-SM have pretty much lookalike IRST, and yet how the hell they can have different value? Like, I understand if MiG-23 have very limited IRST FOV due to obvious reason. But why for 30-SM? Because Gaijin? Lmao

Duality of gaijin. We don’t have any good source on Kh-38MT so we gonna make it an absoulte beast borderline overpowered weapon system. We also don’t have any good source on OLS-30 so we are gonna make it an utter dogshit.

I was bored at weekend so decided to.spade the 29smt.
I was surprised as its actully fun.

Dont even need to buy expert crew as it just doesnt pull… only other vics iv got away with no crew are the tornado and harrier.
Its a shame the FM is so bad. Iv flown most jets in the game- Mig29, harrier and tornado are easily the ones in most need of a FM boost…

Yeah fun aircraft, good radar, nice CM amount and an ok missile count for ARB.
FM is laughable tho, especially when you toggle the AoA limiter, that button is like “press to lose every single encounter”
