Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 & MiG-31 Foxbat / Foxhound - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

At 11.0? It would make people fume probably haha

PD cannot carry bombs as far as Im aware luckily

I heard that R-40RD/TD can be used against ground targets thanks to ability deactivate its proxy fuse. Teoretically it can be added like standalone missile. 38kg warhead can make a lot of damage.

R-13, R-60 and R-23/24T can also. But gaijin doesnt model it. Would be very funny though

Imo the right br should be around the ML/MLD one, at 12.0 or higher it would face the criminally under br’ed F16’s and 18’s.

We will see how 25PD and R-40 will work because I dont have idea right now but I would say more BR 11.0.

I still hope for TT MiG-25.

Would be nice to give a little more variety yeah, I hope it can be tested when the dev server opens, since the event might not be there yet.

MLD is 11.7 right? 18 is 12.3. 16AJ (example) is 12.7. You don’t save it.
And criminal it would be to face 10,7s on the other end that don’t even have serious radar missiles …aka if you can just stay high, run , shoot R-40s uncontested. Not even 11.0s and 11.3s have serious radar missiles to contest you.

Yes, but I didn’t mean the AJ, there’s an F-16A in the US TT at 12.3

Spoiler

that’s 9Ls only. If you play 25 as its role it won’t ever contest you.
if you go dogfight it… you’d die anyway.
The problems start with 12.7s most likely.

Fair point, at least the 12.3 F18 gets sparrows unlike the viper

yeah R-27ER territory, would be a tough situation

no i mean gaijin decision to give it only one, looking at photos it should be able to have dispencers on both wings.

MiG-25PDSG. That is real. It came with two BVP-50-60 dispensers and was an upgrade project for the MiG-25PDS. It was more like a retrofit rather than a separate plane entirely.

So what you’re telling me is, that, this never had a gun pod even fitted for testing purposes?
So missile bus it is.

Any source on this PDSG name? where did it come from

I saw it mentioned in Ruslet.

To be fair, that has described the mig-25 for most of it’s service history; mostly uncontested unless it’s by a F-14 slinging a phoenix missile, a F-16 slinging an AMRAAM, or a couple of lucky aim-7 sparrow launches from f-15s.

I mean they seem to have a far better combat seem than the other gen 3 soviet fighters and maybe than the mig 29, but it is hard to know for sure as there is still a lot of claims on both side on the irak-iran war

ok so the mig25 is 10.3
