Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 & MiG-31 Foxbat / Foxhound - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

But also F3H.

3 from 5 kills was by R-40RD.

I’m kinda scared to play this low sometimes, even R-60’s (despite having poor energy) turn into aim-9X’s against the foxbat xD, the thing is just boiling hot.

It was quite risky, but given that the enemy has significantly outdated equipment (except F-5E), it wasn’t that big of a problem.

Yeah the early IR missiles are generally easy to outrun in the MiG, the downside is the Vne limit which is pretty restrictive, especially at this low alt.

They should give the Blue Team at least the F-4E so they have somewhat of a chance.

And they could give us the MiG-25BM, because two Kh-58Us aren’t enough :D

Pitty that we dont have this right now in game. Like 4x Kh-58U instead of 2x would help a lot.

Air to ground equipment would make it a quite good all-arounder.

Maybe one day :)

I found that 1500-1800 meters is ideal altitude for MiG-25PD as you can use MTI. Practically pulse doppler on very low BR :D

MTI only works up to 1500m radar altitude

try flying at 1800m above the water and it wont work

It was 1800 in NE. I am quite sure I saw 1800.

you were looking at your barometric altitude not radar altitude

Yes. I mean that one.

which dosent really help since the MTI is limited by your radar altitude

so i could say that you can use MTI even when flying at 5km altitude

should be manual cough

yes it should

but we have to work with the cards we are dealt with

sadly yeah, the detection should also be a little better same goes for the 23,s radar

I’m pretty sure it’s 1450

For most of the NE map, it is approximately 1,800 meters.

And they still are using old scan pattern with repeating top and bottom bars

it is 1500m

but if you go above that, you need to get below 1400m radar alt befor MTI turns back on
