Fair enough forgot that WT doesn’t simulate air movment
Slightly unrelated
The mig23 has a flight control system?
How does it work?
Is it similar in function to the Mig-29?

Yes, it has a rudimentary flight control system. MLD models are retrofit with the same FCS as the MiG-29.
Seems like it overperforms in turn overall - STR, for example also should be lower
The AoA and turn rate has been reported and Gaijin will not reduce it further, this has all been discussed before. There is nothing new to this conversation.
F-5 syndrome
It aligns much more closely with the manual than the fictional F-5, which outperforms its real world successor the F-20… and subsequently the F-20 in-game is also overperforming by an equal amount.
anyone put in a report for the irst display being cooked? It’s like the elevation is off by like 10 degrees.
yes gaijin i want to search above my vertical limit
The plane has been cooked for so long due to the automatic radar modes I don’t think anyone cares anymore
I noticed something interesting. For the MiG-23ML the maximum speed at sea level is listed as 1400 km/h. I’m not sure what exactly this number means, whether it’s the maximum attainable speed or a limit due to dynamic pressure. But in the game the MiG accelerates very briskly to 1490+ and then rips its wings off. I think that’s not very realistic.
It rip speed is set to 1470 in game, 1400 x 1.05, same as most other planes vne
Then for the Mirage F1, whose speed limit was 1450 if Im not mistaken, it should be 1520. But in the game, it starts experiencing buffeting earlier than the MiG.
It dosent really matter if you think that if you don’t have a source for it
The MiG-23 should have a lot more buffeting, the wing tips flex in real life during high G or high speed, which caused problems with lateral stability.
It is discussed in the flight manual.
Is there any information about the developers plans to add late experimental versions of the MiG-23, such as the MLDG and the 23-98? The Soviet tech tree is really lacking fighters at 11.7-12.3, which is especially relevant with the introduction of new brackets in SB.
mldg is just mig-23mld with r-73s and and r-24mr, which would be the same as normal r-24r in wt. 23-98 would be horrendous as its stuck with spo 15 with 4x r77s with terrible fm at 13.0
Technically MLD also can get R-73 since they got integration at the end of service life. MLDG distinc feature is jammer, so right now it is quite meaningless as an addition. But i wouldn’t mind 12.0 or 12.3 MiG-23 with R-73s
So it’s absolutely not necessary to give him the R-77.
If it gets similar to Bison treatment it could be a decent premium at 12.3. it will basically have same kit but a bit better with ability to get 4 R-73s and way better CAS potential
I feel like the 23-98 would be in a similar position to the upcoming F-5TH.
A good flight model considering the generation but limited by the amount of missiles it can take (a whopping 4 of them)
