I think that MiG-23 line in TT should be improved by adding next planes and improve existing ones (BR are for simulator):
- MiG-23S - BR 10.7 - plane comparable to F-4C with R-13M and R-3R missiles able carry S-5 / S-8 chaffs
- MiG-23M - BR 11.0 - add ability to carry S-5 / S-8 chaffs (same for other MiGs)
- MiG-23P - BR 11.7 - plane which will replace MLD on BR 11.7, compared to current ingame MLD it lacks vortex generators for low speed stability, older RWR (SPO-10) and no CAS armament (technically it was able carry it and historically for pilot training it was armed by Kh-23)
- MiG-23MLD - BR 12.3 - addition of R-24RM and R-73 missiles (we assume fixed radar)

So the MiG-23P would just be a MiG-23ML just in the TT; would the Raduga DL system for GCI help anything for the radar in terms of WT? And isn’t the radar itself similar to the MLA/MLD?
Currently ML, MLA and MLD radars are all same in game and all are nerfed compared to reality. Practically MiG-23P will be same as ML/MLA with difference that CAS options will be limited only to Kh-23. About Raduga DL, GCI mechanic is not modeled in game but idk if it help if it would.

The radiation warning system of this aircraft does not detect radar radiation from the Phoenix missile???

Well, I remembered that I have a 23MF in my hangar… Let it stay there.
I suggest you should try MLD, at current br its quite good.
Played couple games not long ago and it was quite enjoyable.

I brought MLD to the top a long time ago, but the Germans still have MLA and MF in stock. I clashed with MLD in battles, usually they gain 5 km and use 24P, but there were also cunning guys who crawled through the gardens under the path of our team and threw 24T that no one was expecting)
I would personally use R-24T all the time. Very deadly missiles with which I have most kills (also against the western 4th generation). Master of surprise attacks and ambushes.

Why doesn’t the MiG-23 have radar gun lead? It doesn’t have it in the HUD either without switching HUD modes even tho I doubt that it doesn’t even have a gyro gun sight right?
