I think the Mig29 sniper should have r73 like the other MiG29s in the Soviet and German tree, maybe wil be moved up to 13.0 but we have the f2a premium there already. Or they should be change it to it more realistic loadout of r27r and r27t and r73 or give me python 3 or aim9l on it because that is what the sniper program was about right?
because of historical accuracy (which really doesnt matter too much) they best you can possibly get is python 3s or magic 2s never aim9L or r-73 (but was possible just never happend on the sniper IRL) maybe r-73 at best
R73 not being present is just the developer’s choice to keep it at 12.7, but it was never actually integrated with magic 2 or python 3 as the project was cancelled after only some basic avionics and wiring upgrades
its been well established in game that that doesnt really matter
it literally cannot use them
this whole argument was had when the thing was first being added so it probably wont change ultimately
the whole point of the jet is to have NATO weapons like python 3 which it was rewired to be able to do and MB Romina also had r-73 so you can get that but is it really a buff if you are stuck with the same SARH missiles
yeah except the development of the jet never actually got that far before it was cancelled, all they did was a minor avionics upgrade and replace the wiring
well the f16XL never actually carried real aim120s either but its in game and has them
yeah the argument for it being a prototype is there but ultimately I feel theres a little more nuance to it than simply that as it was a cancelled considered upgrade not really a prototype

yeah, from what I understand Indias’ Russian built aircraft are built from the ground up to have a more open systems architecture to allow the easy integration of western weapons systems and avionics, which would imply that they are normally not so simple to integrate.

IT had the wireing to have python 3s so yes it is its like a f15EX fresh out the factory just because its pylons never had a aim120 doesn’t mean it can use them or is uncapabale of firing them
no it didnt, they replaced the wires around the cockpit, they did not add any of the requirements to fire additional missile types

Yeah and that require modifying the aircraft. Ukraine had to rewire their MiG-29s and adapt different pylons to fire american HARMs.
so tell me this F16XL in game is basically another ho ri situation it had 0 radar for weight reasons and yet it can fire fox3s with a radar on it for balance reasons gaijin added the full production version that was going to be made they can easily do the same with the sniper
the ho ri as it is in game was entirely made up by gaijin, it wasnt the same as the F14D, F16XL, Yak141, or mig29 sniper
Just wiring the pylons doesn’t cut it, you have lots of different systems that need to “talk” to each other for it to function properly, missile, FCS, HMS, radar etc. If you have the radar and HMS yelling at the FCS in Russian, the FCS is yelling at the missile, radar and HMS in English and the missile is yelling back at them all in Hebrew, things are going to not function correctly.
