Almost 3 years ago, Gaijin promised “When this soviet fighter sees more counterparts with equal strength, its arsenal will ‘surely’ be augmented with more advanced short range missiles.” Given all of the planes that have been added in the last 3 years and even the most recent BR changes involving F-16ADF’s receiving AIM-120 and going up to 13.3 and the introduction of 14.3, why has the MiG-29 9.13 not been given R-73 and moved up to 13.0? I understand maybe why other export 9.12s in other trees don’t have them but the SOVIET 9.13 deserves them now. If not when? It is not as if Germany needs to gatekeep this load out anymore. Maybe i am wrong? I understand previous balance decisions taken by Gaijin, and i understand the CM’s official position on this, however because Gaijin is now adjusting armament and BR of contemporary planes, why decide against giving specifically 9.13 the R73?

MiG-29G. Literally no difference from 9.12A (apart from slightly more powerful engines) but it gets R-27ER and R-73s (despite Germany never even gotten ERs to begin with)
why did Germany get the MiG-29G?

instead of the MiG-29G Russia got the MiG-29SMT one major update earlier
None of this matters, they can still add a MiG-29G equivalent to the ussr
those are the official answers we got from Gaijin CMs
so they do matter because this is the official reason why

Their reasoning is faulty and therefore it doesn’t matter. Nothing stops them or hinders their objective if they add a MiG-29G equivalent to the USSR.

Well, US mains coped their way into F-16A getting AMRAAMs so i don’t see no reason for not talking about neglected MiG-29s

- awful FM
- 2 minutes of fuel when afterburning
- 60 countermeasures
- ARH missile carriers one BR step above (you are going to be facing them every game)
This thing can easily go down to 12.3 and there would still be a planes I would rather play than it.
US main coping is what got the MiG-29 FM nerfed in the first place. And it was a double nerf of sorts since the other top tier airframe (F-16) got a massive buff in the same patch.
and they are wrong, and it should be fixed.
The point is to show extreme disapproval so they change the game.

they still have 1 F-16, in the same BR range as MiG-29 9.12A/9.12B/9.13

Right. I understand previous balance decisions taken by Gaijin, and i understand this talked about a lot, and it is because it’s a problem! As time goes on the official stance regarding 9.13 from Gaijin becomes more and more impractical with the introduction of more modern weaponry. I am bringing this up because Gaijin is moving BR’s and adding armament to planes that are relevant to 9.13. Now it seems, would be the perfect time for 9.13 to see R73. Would you be against it?
