Agreed. At 14.0, I would say around 30 percent of my engagements are dogfights. At 13.0, depends on the plane - f16/grippy/15a, probably around 60 -70 percent are dogfights. But if I’m in a bvr bus like the j8, then more around 5-15 percent
Except no missile is just as good as MICA at close range, and being good at medium and long range is kinda useless when anyone bar F-15Es spamming GBU-39s know how to notch.

Yep from what I understand at least how they are currently nerfed/wrong is:
R-77 and R-77-1 wrong/poorly modeled drag model leading to reduced range
AIM-120A/B lacking fin AOA
AIM-120C lacking range and HOBS
PL-12 range nerfed
AAM-4 range nerfed
MICA range nerfed
Derby’s and R darter I’m not to familiar with how they perform compared to IRL

Isn’t it also server related to how well the TVC performs? Like it wobbles way less in test drives compared to actual games
Yeah, although fun fact test drives still actually have server latency. The only way for entirely remove it is in user missions.
It should be fairly obvious no? If the already best missile in game gets even better, then other nations will also need better to compete.

Ok, but we also implement the IRL G-limiters/wing-overrload to all planes… no more UFO flight models and pulling 15G turns at M 1.2, without the pilots spine snaping in half.
If you want IRL stats, take ALL IRL stats, not just the once that benefit you.

I think if you strictly compare missiles without their respective aircraft you could make the argument that the R-77-1 is better than the MICA, because it trades a little bit of HOBS capability for significantly better BVR performance
the Derby is based off the Python 4, so maybe there’s some extra maneuverability to be had :)
I’m seeing more and more people just j-ing out to deny the kill when I use the rafale.
Of course, it’s an issue for most planes and not exclusive to the rafale and m2k, where egotistical players decide that they’re better than dying to other players.

But yes su is a bigass target compared to rafale, mirage, gripen etc what makes it even more prone To get hit by missiles.
But having similiar airframe (ef and typhoon) and still beating a severe difference in average kills says something about those missiles also.
After using both I have to say I’ve had a great time with the -1, what I would trade any day of the week is the platform :/
Eh i doubt that the SU30 would be as good with MICAs as the Rafale is, the HOBS capabilty combined with the flightmodel of the Rafale is just a match made in heaven but on a severely less agile platform like the SU30 its not as effective. Eurofighters with MICAs would be menace tho

I just alt-tab the game, theres nothing I can do against sub-10km launch of MICA.

Range wise : everything else than MICA-EM have more range.
G-wise
- short range: R-77-1 have the same ability
- long range: AIM-120’s have similar abilities (the MICA-EM drop at 35G on 1st pull at long-range, while the AIM-120 keeps similar 35G at same range of MICA - while going further away)
having TVC:
R-77-1
So in my mind, both AIM-120C5 (due to having 120km launch range [70km advantage reminder]) and R-77-1 (Short range G abilities, extended range + TVC) are better than MICA-EM.
you also have the same or more amount of missile, in a 1vs1:
you can shoort first, make me defensive - reducing my abilities to launch at max range due to notching 1st and maybe 2nd missile,… then i can finally drop 1 towards you as you launch your third
i’ll be slow, low, my missile would fight gravity when yours have it’s advantage.
you’re just all so bad that you wants to shoot only missile to kill 1 aircrafts, but BVR is about gainning advantages and not necessarly to kill.
If you all played the mind game, Rafale and MICA-EM would be decimated before it could harm your mighty USA/Russian aircrafts.
It’s coming into the best kill zone of MICA-EM that is troubling you alls

Juuuust nope. It truly doesnt. It doesnt pull or turn like mica (nothing does) on close range.
Only thing what is closest to micas short range pull and turn is R73
Another thing is that 120KM launch range, who cares about that, when longest shots are about 50km range.
