MI-28NM received DIRCM, protection against all missiles. DEV

YEah. Cause it doesn’t need PD. AMRAAMs weren’t designed for heli anyway. Likewise heli designs didn’t really consider ARH missiles but rather Saclos and IR MANPADS.

cant wait for live server
if DIRCM are so good at interfering IR missiles why not just put them on planes instead
weird ahh doctrine

Cause they are 1. heavy equipment 2. not better than flares 3.against aerodynamics 4. Planes don’t really want to get into IR range anyway.

so 9X is useless against DIRCM helis then?

Should be down to chance and angles IRL, but yeah. IIR looks for signature of say heli or jets, but DIRCM might be close to a flashbang but some form of signature may still be available.

Apparently IIR-seeker do not really care about DIRCM.

afaik 9X is IIR right

afaik, yes

so DIRCM wont do scheibe against it?

That is one part of the story and that is one IIR vs 1 DIRCM. However IRL it looks much worse and some parts of IIR seeker could even be damaged by high energy DIRCM. There is more to it than that but it does have a sort of flare vs IRCCM kind of feel cause it is down to angles and DIRCM can also adapt to scan patterns.

complete immunity is never guaranteed but looking at the video at the top the effectiveness of DIRCM seems kinda absurd, almost like 500m no no zone against IR missiles.

Yeah it is modeled a bit aggressively in WT but it is not final.

i hope so

Yep , adats is a dual-purpose short range surface-to-air and SLAMRAAM is a medium range surface-to-air. One is designed to kill aeroplanes, missiles and other things and the other helis, ground attack planes, drones and others.

I love your datamines.

is the power output of L370 DIRCM known ? (in watts, preferably)

Helicopters have always been tricky to target because of this, and the fact that the rotor blades don’t really give a consitent return (one hemisphere of the rotor gowing away, one going towards the radar). Since the 1990s though, most missiles can probably, with the use of a bit of signal processing, target helicopters successfully

Not confirmed anyways.

Issue is these things are not in WT, multi path is 100% effective and signal processing will also struggle against really low flying heli.

Unconfirmed ?

Does it means there is a value somewhere, or is it just completely unknown ?

Might be, but IDK. Definitely not set in stone for a vehicle / system in the past decade or so.
