MI-28NM received DIRCM, protection against all missiles. DEV

It seems unlikely that anyone noticed the new mechanics Electro-Optical Countermeasure System (DIRCM) on the MI-28NM helicopter. In the video you can see how the USSR MI-28NM helicopter simply ignores all missiles of different types. And I have a question, will this EO-CM function be given to all top helicopters?

I couldn’t find any description of this mechanic, only one YouTube blogger noticed it. It’s very strange.

Looking at datamines, it seems like a new DIRCM Band8 was added. IIRC previously the best DIRCM was Band6, which was effective against all IR missiles back then (except IR AGMs? I’m not sure about that one). Now that the new top tier IR SAMs are immune to Band6, it seems like the devs decided to add Band8 to counter that. And so the arms race continues…

Yes, I would like all top helicopters to receive this DIRCM.

Anyone who properly read my datamines knew about it. :)

I searched for a topic on DCIRM on the forum but found nothing. I didn’t find anything on the Internet either.

Against anything barring IIR, but now they work against IIR as well. How it works IRL is debated but could be this way.

We’ve talked about it in other threads not specifically about it.

So only Russia and China have helicopters with LDIRCM/DIRCM that can blind every optical/IR-based seeker and since everyone bring ka-52/28NM in their lineup, make them almost completely immune to all counters except SAM with Beam-riding ones?
This shit is funny.

Yes, Gaijin is not changing. They gave us a new SPAA but they gave the USSR and China helicopters that will be simply invulnerable to the new SPAA.

Yes, it doesn’t matter anymore. I found out that other helicopters won’t get DIRCM. Helicopters of other countries will get this DIRCM when the USSR gets something even more powerful.

What about the AIM-120C-5 missiles? They are not IR-guided.

They don’t work against ARH missiles. ARH missiles can’t be laser blinded.

Yes, I trade my IRIS-T or SLM for FlarakRad so i can stand against the heli lol
The only new SPAA that are ARH is SLAMRAAM in US tree, other nation is either being forced to buy another lineup slot to add FlarakRad or other similar system (TOR) so as to counter the heli while having the new one against Aircraft and drones.

Honestly outside of not being able to use PARs or Spike against them this doesn’t really change much. You can still just use a normal radar guided missile to kill them like you always have.

Better still, u can’t even do anything about their missiles if they just sit there. I honestly it should be down to chance but rn it isn’t. A bit like flares against IRCCM.

The current implementation is detached from reality anyway in the case of Mi-28MN, it should have coverage under and behind the heli, and should only be able to distract 1 missile at a time.

Now tell me how that ball (L370V28-5L) can project a laser trough the heli, it’s clear as day that it’s meant to defend against manpads because of placement but Gaijin in their incompetence implemented it lazily and overpowered(wonder why?), while other systems like the MUSS on puma are literally useless with how bugged they are.

There is something on its nose though as well.

Those 2 are headlights…

This is the same heli, you can see the LDIRCM on its back section.

Spyder aio gets derbies, type 81c arh missiles are also a thing.
