Mi-24D (USSR Premium) BR 8.7 - This Feels Like a Scam

It gets chaff, I split 64/64 and use CM series of 1 seconds, that gives enough time to get in range for ATGMs, shoot all 4 and bug out.

Also what are you talking about gold for ?

is good for missile not for Hundreds of shells flying straight at you.

I mean that you cannot buy the Mi-24D Premium with Silver Lions .

If you can’t dodge radar SPAA at 3.5-4 KM then that is on you, it is not easy but it is also not hard, the M247 is probably the hardest to dodge at 9.0. Apart from that not much else is a issue, I died to planes much more than SPAA.

If you are 3-4 km away those shells take 3-4 seconds to get there. If you’re still hovering in place or still moving in the same direction at that point then i don’t know what to tell you.

chaff also makes the aim of tracking SPAA go off center so they might miss easier.

Read above — I already wrote about this. At 4 km, our weapons are barely effective. The chance to miss is very high, and the chance to get shot down while you’re still aiming is even higher.

And you also mention getting shot down by aircraft, I’m talking about the overall situation, the general gameplay on this helicopter. It’s just awful. Everything about it feels punishing and broken.

I honestly don’t understand — do you really not see this?

Or am I the only one experiencing this?

I really don’t want to discuss helicopter combat tactics with you, especially on this helicopter.

In theory, everything sounds simple. In practice, it’s completely different. While you’re aiming and your missile is flying, 15–20 seconds pass. The target is moving, and your missile follows this delayed, awkward trajectory — it feels like you’re playing at 10 FPS. Aiming is extremely difficult.

The optics are weak in this state, the tank is constantly moving — sharply back and forth — and on top of that artillery fires every 3–4 seconds, which gives a very high chance of getting shot down. You try to maneuver, but then the chance to miss increases even more, which I already mentioned before.

The only somewhat effective engagement distance is 2–3 km. But at that range, you are extremely vulnerable to SPAA.

Overall, the gameplay on this helicopter is just terrible. Everything related to these missiles at this BR is an absolute disaster.

This premium was (iirc) among the first set of heli premiums published. Along with the US Huey and the German Bo 105.

It still is a formidable Heli to grind rank VI of the soviet tree, as it does function quite well in Heli PVE battles. In a way, it is an excellent asset for a new player to have to grind helicopters, SL and crew there.

As far as using it in ground RB, I have no idea, because I don’t like this cap-rush & spawn strategy.

It’s one of the best 8.7 Helis, 4km range ATGMs that actually maintain control at those ranges, very fast and one of the very few Helis at this BR that has an RWR

wild take

edit: I don’t understand how you’ve reached this conclusion, the 24D doesn’t suffer from any exclusive problems beyond being made of glass and being fat (common for all Hinds). Are you really that mad about losing CCIP?

Wait…

So even the sweatiest players are getting us here?

Yeah most early helis are overtiered, and now with free SPAA they are even weaker, you dont even have the weaker helis show there too.

Pretty shitty of gayjiin to nerf premium vehicles, that is a very bad marketing practice and should be very illegal. Even if you pay for a license, not the vehicle, it is still false advertising since you have no option for a refund.

Imagine buying an electric car and suddenly the brand will lower the horsepower or make some features unavailable.

I just did a test flight and didn’t understand why the rocket ballistics computer doesn’t work. The helicopter was pretty shitty even with it. Falanga rockets are pretty useless and at that BR, spaa will kill/detect you long before the rockets will reach anything, specially when you need to manually aim the rocket.

No wonder why you see them very rarely in the game

How is it false advertising? You still have access to the vehicle and still get the RP/SL bonuses from it.

Imagine if you rent a car and the company says that they are going to change the accessories for all the cars of the same model in their fleet.

The available movies and shows on streaming services change all the time and many shows/movies become unavailable.

You are free to the opinion that you think this should change, but you can’t really compare it to buying a physical thing.

They sell it with a certain set of features and after you buy it they change the features. They can balance the vehicle by other means, for example BR.

Have you ever rent a car? You rent a car with certain features or that is a part of a certain category. Imagine you rent an 9 seater car, and after few days the company call to bring the vehicle back and they give you one with 2 seats.

Anyway, we can go back and forth with this forever, the truth is it’s very shitty practice, borderline scam

must be awkward when you have ppl saying you can’t touch premium vehicles and others are desperate for the Su-30MK2/MKK and BMPT-72 to go up

You’re not buying the vehicle though. And nothing is sold with any promises of it staying the way it is, the opposite actually.

Yes, have you red the ToS for those? Many of them allow the rental place to give you a different car with reasonably close functionality to the one you booked without you getting compensation.

You don’t understand, I am just saying it should be illegal because it’s pretty much a scam and is a bad business practice.

Your rent a car analogy doesn’t work. Once they give you the car, THEY CANNOT CHANGE ANYTHING about it. Renting something gives you owning permissions.

I don’t know how are the laws where you live, where i live, a contract, eula or whatever can have certain clauses that can be illegal.

Just as you highlight, " changes to the characteristics or functionality should be not interpreted as alterations to their performance". But the changes alters their performance :)

Hope that makes it clear for you

Just because the ToS says “should not be interpreted”, does not mean a decent amount of the community will feel a certain way about a topic/subject. Plus, I doubt the people being vocal about this or similar topics actually care about the wording of 7.2.

the community should be very vocal about this, just like the community did to wargaming when they nerfed a premium tank. They have the same clause in tos, but they never nerfed a premium tank again. To be honest, they do a decent job at balancing premium tanks when they release them. There are exceptions, ofc

In the past, there were premium scams and repercussions, which then lead to changes.

What is a scam?
Gaijin used former store premiums for the warbond store. And when they did that, the SL% miraculously went down further and further and further and even further than that.
In the case of the Achilles, the SL reward went below the SL reward of the free Achilles (then still rank 3).
Yes, the premium earned worse than the free vehicle and not about twice as much. And that happened to a lot of other warbond store vehicles too.

I filed a bug report, and told everyone about it. Wasn’t sekrit, as anyone who looked could see this in the stats card. I also stopped buying premiums for as long as that situation wasn’t rectified. Took a while.

That is a scam!

So gaijin shouldnt do anything about things like terminator and its magic “external” belts? Turm 3? T58?

Battle rating is also vehicle feature which matters a lot. Would things change much for you if devs pumped its br up to 9.7 instead of removing ccip?

Br changes also alter vehicle performance so again, br change isnt smth much different. Just compare 8.3 puma or 8.3 strf9040b with what they have become. Do you think their performance didnt get altered?

Its pretty much stalemate situation in the end. We either ruin game image by turning game into p2w (because balancing department does not play their game or doesnt exist, hence why p2w stuff is inevitable) or ruin game image by upsetting paypiggies (no offense Im one of those too) who thought their vehicle will be as good as on release. Devs picked second option because obv its better for luring players with “free to play” and “all players are equal” thing.
