I agree with this completely, and the key issue isn’t “difficulty” or player skill. It’s removed functionality with no compensation.
The Mi-24D was already a high-risk helicopter at 8.7. Its survivability, size, and lack of guided weapons meant it relied heavily on first-pass effectiveness. Removing the ballistic computer for S-5 rockets and gun pods fundamentally breaks that balance. Rockets without ballistic assistance at this BR are not just harder to use, they’re mechanically mismatched against radar SPAA, stabilized MBTs, and jets.
What makes this unacceptable is that this is a premium vehicle. It was sold with specific capabilities, and those capabilities were later removed without a BR reduction, survivability buffs, economy changes, or alternative tools. That’s not normal balance adjustment. That’s a downgrade after purchase.
At 8.7, this turns every engagement into extended exposure against radar guided threats, which is simply not viable.
Restoring the ballistic computer, lowering the BR, or rebalancing the helicopter in a meaningful way are all reasonable solutions. Leaving it as is just means the vehicle no longer fulfills its intended role or its premium value.
Given how hard the Mi‑24D struggles after losing its ballistic computer, a BR of 8.3 seems far more appropriate, with 8.0 as an option if no targeting aids or other buffs are returned. That would keep it useful without throwing it into constant 9.0 games where it has almost no chance to use its rockets and gunpods effectively.
