Maneuvers and strategy are a lie.
All that matters is using a spitfire in the same way as a heavy attacker - fly straight in and headon.
That is the meta it seems, everything you have been told about air combat is a lie.
Aircraft with different capabilities? - lies
Apparently the only method regardless of aircraft or performance etc is to fly straight in and headon to the death.

Now on a serious note - has anyone ever encountered the AI mig15’s? honestly - they are a million times more intelligent and make better choices than 99% of human pilots.

Most matches within 2 mins of takeoff I am compelled to just land and J out.

In short guys - use every single aircraft in the exact same manner lol
In which case - do not bother “grinding” if your just gonna use every aircraft in the exact same manner.

applicable. what is the duality here.
I am just trying to portray a perspective that others overlook or cannot comprehend.
spitfire - str8 in - headon
p51 - str8 in - headon
yak - str8 in headon

does anybody reflect and ask what is the point of different aircraft with diff capabilities if you are gonna do the same detrimental action?

Why buy a Ferrari if your gonna drive it like a hatchback?

It was satire btw mate, kinda disappointed that I have to state that. Kinda reflects the mentality i am trying to portray in a negative light.

I always get jumpscared when the AI does things

one time I got killed by an aim9B from an AI f-104, didnt even know they could do that

Dude, they have to grind, and we have to understand that. The only thing that matters today is RP/min.
After the holy grind they own their super hyper cool jet and no clue what to do with it.

It was not like this hardly at all in the past. I guess the influx of newer players has changed the game a good deal. Well, the game itself has changed a good bit yes, but the player base
is also much different now.

To me, and this is just my opinion, the entire premise of aerial combat is to stay alive,
and complete your “mission” . . it is “military” action after all.
The #1 and key way to do this is to stay out from in front of an enemies guns.
Not to fly directly into them . . lol, but many have missed the memo . . . BIGLY even.

The art of dogfighting is not now, nor ever has been going . . . “head on”, but it is
a misperceived maneuver many consider a valid tactic . . . apparently . . . lol

You can blame an excessive “grind”(as many see it) a lack of patience, or just complete
disregard for any actual piloting skills, immersion or pretending . . to each their own.

Many want to pretend they are Tom Cruise playing Maverick, pretending to care about Goose, when we all know he is in love with Val Kilmer/the Iceman(cool name btw), but
I ain’t that guy. I am a gamer, I just like shooting stuff and the military aspect is
secondary to me. Again, we all like different things.

But even without pretending to be an actual pilot, a fragment of common sense and some
stratagem and wile will tell you a head on is a bad move. The only maneuver worse than
a head on is a full blown intentional kamikaze.

That being said, there are times when you know you are gonna die anyway, whether an act
of desperation or “heroism” and taking someone out with you might even be “noble”.
But those times are rare I think . . … lol very rare indeed.

The worst angle to attack an enemy is head on, the second worst is directly from the rear.

You have guns pointed at you in the front(you effectively aim for the enemy when
you line up to attack here) and even from the rear, you are minimizing places to hit
the enemy plane, reducing your chances of success. Literally any other angle is
far better to approach/attack.

I play AB, and it is crazy how often this happens in the games I play, it is “inevitable”
that at some point(many times even) some goober is going to fly straight at you, as
fast as they can, guns blazing . . . just hoping to get some hits or even a kill.

I fly slightly above the action looking for a target and all I see is two guys, squaring off
and flying right at each other, and then . . . KaBlooie . . . two dead guys . . . lol.

It is what it is, I mean you can even watch it in the eSports tourneys . . . that’s all they do.
lol . . .why even bother? . . . maybe tankers just flying planes because they have to/ get to,
I dunno. Streamers/content creators doing it and even advocating it . . .I have no idea.

But it is out there, and I doubt it goes away . . . it is just “meta”

Me? . . . I’ll stick to chicanery & sophistry and an occasional wonderful little mano et
mano actual dogfight with some guy with a similar/equal plane and skills and we will
go at it until someone makes a mistake . . . this is what I play for.

Have you not seen the Run it Straight / Run Nation Championship ?

(safe-for-work to internet search)

Just find the stuff that excites people out of everything in the game, and distill it down to just that…

lol . … omg . . . that’s insane . . but obviously . . . not out of the question.

I think the head on epidemic is largely due to . . . lack of consequences
I mean it’s really just a game of chicken where no one gets hurt . . . lol

One of the things I blame this all on is the spawns in Air AB . . . there is only ONE!
And they line them up directly in front of each other, 80%(if not more) of
players, spawn in, fly directly into enemy planes, as fast as they can, firing away
like crazy . . just hoping to get some hits or a kill and survive . . .
A big game of chicken and then . . . . rinse and repeat the entire game.

I think many players start out in AB, to learn, build up crew skill points etc. .
Pick up bad habits in the lower tiers and carry those with them the rest of the
time that they play . . . onto other modes and higher BRs . . . seems like

I also think many come into this game with this “straight on attack” thing engrained
from playing other games where that is common, and maybe more useful, I dunno.
And as long as we have streamers, content creators, eSports streams that “glorify”
this type of behavior . . . it ain’t going away.

Some will learn, many will not . . . just how it is.
I just try to avoid those types of engagements(no easy trick there in AB)
and if(when) I do get stuck in the situation, just try to roll out and turn on them and
take them out that way. Which unless they just keep speeding on, is usually pretty easy.

At any rate we all like and play different things in different ways and that’s ok.

It makes me far less angry than I find it kinda sad tho . . .
