Merkava Mk4 is known for its missing armor in-game, and I did a little research about it and it seems like the interior armor of the turret(the base armor which is made of RHA) is as thick as 200-260mm in a small area at the front, and on the sides’ angles it seems to be 40mm thick, and when shooting it from the front its effectiveness is like 85mm of RHA. I don’t think its making any sense that this is the thickness of it. If you have any image or any proof to show that the values are different send it here please and I’ll try to make an issue report on it with hope that gaijin will AT LEAST change this little thing.
Front turret base armor:
Side turret base armor(from the side):
Side turret base armor effectiveness(from front):

I’m afraid this value is somewhat accurate. The issue with Merkava 4s armor is the missing modelling of SLERA armor. Basically ERA which does not explode as much. Images of the modular armor of the merkava exist and have been reported already, being acknowledged by the devs, but nothing has been done so far.

well it doesn’t make sense that the front is between 200-260mm of RHA and the sides are only 40mm… what’s special about this tank is that its built mostly for crew protection and I honestly believe the sides should have been around 100mm RHA minimum, but I don’t know the secrets of the IDF so…
As has been stated above, the armor values for the SLERA are what’s inaccurate here. Gaijin refuses to remodel the tanks armor values based on the fact that “if it was truly that protected it would weigh more”. Well gaijin, it does weigh more in fact. The Merkava Mk.4 series is reported by Israeli state media to weigh ~80 tons, yet gaijin thinks it weighs 65.5 tons (only .5 tons lighter than the Mk.3 ingame). This is just pathetic…
(The hull UFP annd side aemit is also underarmored, and the side skirts are too thin.)
