Demanding ≠ Postulating, I was under the impression that Merkava Mk4 tanks possessed anti-spalling measures, as informed to me by IDF crewmen of the Meil’Ruach (Mk4M) that there was spall prevention, as a result it joins the list of features that could be added to improve the Merkava, as if they exist or not, I haven’t seen enough evidence for or against spall liners, as the IDF is extremely secretive with their information, and finding out details about the Merkava’s armour is exceedingly difficult.
Do you have good photos that show there’s no lining? Do you prefer not to believe your own eyes?
Word of an IDF crewman takes precedence over that of some russian main on the forums 🤷♂️
Where can I see the words “we have a spall liner installed”?
Or are these words you made up?
Merkava was bulit around crew survaivability and it is performing like that irl
Isnit so hard to belive that merkava has spall liners?
Gaijin made up stats all the time but when it comes to israel nuh we need clear classified facts
leclerc, abrams, type90\10 also do not have anti-splinter lining, although any tank tries to protect the crew
Id did mentioned gaijin just doesnt want to expet it cuz it can be missread which is what they did
There’s not a single word about the Merkava’s anti-splinter liner.
What are you talking about?
No u dont understand
Merkava was made to protect crew over anything else
Thats whybit has engine in the front which gaijin thinks is peper and auto anti fire stuff with insane amount of armor
Its more then a leo or abrams
Are we dead ass?
Oh and btw its not like the m113 got its spall liner so either way there is some bs here
Well, that’s complete nonsense, and that’s all.
People are grasping at straws, even though their own eyes tell them the tank is made of steel, not soft lining.
“Oh no, don’t believe your eyes, it’s definitely not steel.”
Look at the photos of the Challenger 2, T-90M, and Leopard 2A5+.
You won’t find anything similar in the Merkava, Abrams, Leclerc, or Type 90/10.
What?
How can u see it its spall liner in the walls?
Placing a spall liner within the armor is pointless, as it should be the rear layer facing the crew.
Again, what does “in armor” mean if you’re looking at a monolithic sheet of steel from the inside? If the liner is in front of a 50-60mm thick plate, it’s completely useless.
Again, there are spall liner placement diagrams for the T-90M and Leopard tanks, but not a single diagram for the Leclerc, Abrams, Type 10/90, or Merkava.
“Oh no, it’s all just a coincidence.”
On all tanks and armored fighting vehicles where a spall liner is clearly indicated, it’s always inside.
Cuz some are classified bruh
In the armor means its part of the armor in the internal side ofc but its not like u can see it and know if its a spall liner or just normal part of the armor so photos cant rly be a evidnace for that
Maybe there is other material between the spall liner and the crew who knows
Can you guys please end this useless disscussion? There is no soft lining inside the merkava, i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again.
My entire service the tank was bare metal inside.
Please focus on important stuff like: anything else.
Thanks for clearing things up 🙏
Just out of interest, did you serve on a windbreaker equipped Merkava? They appear to be the most common in IDF service
My friend told me that Merkavas had realistic armor on launch but players felt it was overpowered so they nerfed the protection and kept the weight. Is that true?
Did Merkavas get nerfed again? I think they reduced the roof HE protection by about 88%, is that also true or cope?
That was the LIC, which was added with the correct armour modifiers but they nerfed it instead of buffing the others
They reduced the roof armour by 87.5% in recently datamined changes, with no sources or reasoning attached
Since when does gaijin give sources? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a change by Gaijin supported by evidence.
Can you confirm it?
