But you can take forever to post
I think WoT got Tiger 131 and Fury from a Tank Museum tie in.
It’s something War Thunder don’t seem to bother with as they don’t seem to have any interest in history or timelines. They could do plenty of interesting premiums with unusual schemes but for some reason don’t ,they just do bland copy paste.
That is ironic isn’t it? WG spends a lot of money on historical tie ins and such like “The Chieftain” YT channel, but WoT isn’t very historically realistic since its totally “arcadey”. While Gaijin doesn’t bother, but its game manages to be more true(er) to history.
Indeed, but my frustration with this game does not come from how bad it is but how good it could be.
It would be a positive thing if WT were to give era and timeline the respect they deserve both for WW2 fans and modern era. This whole business of "Warthunder does not do eras " like its a good thing is just bunk and laziness.
Warthunder could and should kick WoT out of the ballpark but they just don’t bother.
Sadly, I think, and they probably know, that the users who prefer/care/insist that vehicles matched in games should be historically correct are a minority, and they can get away with it in the name of the all mighty queue times.
Yeah, the game is a slave to BR and the great gaps in half-finished tech trees that never should have been implemented in the first place.
Gaijins view of history is just weird. So many great skins missing and so many aces, legends never mentioned, and battles never commemorated.
Probably an inevitable problem. They have to take the fire hose of military history and reduce it down to the garden hose of what they can do in the context of a video game.
If they make it “serious history simulator is serious” it will put off the casual players/paying customers.
And then there are the decisions that have to be made, that no matter what you do, someone will be pissed.
I don’t think anybody wants a serous sim or are really suggesting it.
I think many just want the same level of realism we have come to expect from a War based PC game over the past 40 years .It’s always been at least an attempt by the maker to make it as real as possible as opposed to Gaijin proudly stating how they just can’t be bothered and throw any old vehicle in wherever and on any old map.
Then the fanboys come on and tell us how that is a good thing and how it all works even though many of us are shaking our heads at facing an 80s vehicle in a WW2 tank.
It’s like somebody putting a blue door on a new red car you bought and trying to tell you it’s fine because it fits and the window even winds down … it’s still the wrong colour and looks stupid…and its wrong even if the sales rep (Mr Alvis Wisla) says its fine…its just not.
Its obvious how many history buffs and plane and tank fans there are on here otherwise nobody would care about the Memphis Belle but we are slaves bowing to those who don’t care. Its a shame, the game could cater for both.
