There has got to be a way to add mechanics to the game that would allow console players to buy some of these things without gambling.
Until the powers to be show us that theyre actually working on a way to include all players in events like this, I have zero faith these decisions are made in players interest and not just a ridiculous cash grab.
Start including methods for console players or dont do it at all.
That is because in real life, pieces of art are unique. And a consequence of that is that they are mostly only available to rich people, I do not think a lot of high school students buy famous paintings at auctions from their heard-earned money.
And I do not see why we have to artificially force this onto digital art, which is easily reproducable. Do the artists not want many people to enjoy their art? Do we want to exclude high school students who cannot afford to buy 200 GJN or more just to have a chance?
And then there are other problems with the auction, for example that people have to buy GJN to participate, which means if a thousand people buy 200 GJN on average, and then only 100 get the skin, the artists only get a cut from what the 100 paid but all the other GJN that was bought to try and compete in the auction is income for Gaijin and does not necessarily go to artists (e.g. if players then buy vehicles Gaijin made). So I’m not even sure if the artists make more from selling 100 skins in an auction vs tens of thousands of skins from boxes or as packs like the esports pack.
In the end the auction might hurt everyone: The players who buy the skins paid through the roof to get them, the players who want the skins but don’t get them or can’t afford them may also have bought lots of GJN that they cannot refund, and the artists might not even get that much money out of it compared to selling many more for a lower price. Well, Gaijin may sell more GJN overall so that’s a little suspicious perhaps. ;)
And all this because heavy artificial scarcity was introduced for a digital good that inherently isn’t scarce at all. Yes, the boxes and store packs are also somewhat limited (and to some extent have to be if they’re not intended to be free), but not nearly in the way the auction items are.
Thank you for the explanation however, this system needs to be terminated effective immediately. There is absolutely no reason for this to be in war thunder. We allowed you guys the market place (which still is a negative to the game) and we allowed you to sell $80 premiums. Yet this is too far, all I see is you copying the World of Tanks black market system which is one of the worst things to ever be introduced into a game. You say “it’s just going to be cosmetics.” Remember when you said “We will NEVER sell top tier jets.” Yeah, you can’t be trusted. You 1000% will eventually introduce vehicles into this system because your greed know no bounds.
I will not allow you to copy such a disgusting system and implement it into my game I’ve played since 2014 with over 6,200+ hours.
TL;DR: Get rid of the auction system and never introduce it again.
I thought it was on topic and someone expressing their opinion about the auction… No reason to censor it considering we share videos about topics all the time on here… Why would they suddenly decide to remove a post when it’s only designed to be convenient for players an creators… Can’t be for financial reasons surely?? Weird…
I know I am spinning one’s wheels as I am just one person and they won’t change anything for just myself. Saying that I have played since 2013 and over that time this auction system and the increase of gatcha boxes has concerned me the most during my time playing. Also leaving out console players who potentially again can’t get items PC players I find rather disheartening.
I would rather it not exist but understand that profits need to rise for any company. I am just here to voice my growing concern of the increasing frequency of these types of systems.
The Todace you added reminds me of a different thing I heard, “We will not be adding Top Tier Premiums”
Yet now we are sitting here with a JA-37Di with AMRAAMs.
I mean it could be because of the thumbnail but still that’s the very same words their CEO used, so yeah remember the saying don’t shoot the messenger lol
While i respect the fact you are taking out time to communicate/address the subject you wouldn’t need had it actually been a positive addition to the game, that alone should give you a clear indication of the community’s mindset towards it, I don’t think you guy’s realise how little trust/faith the community has in gaijin as a whole, we’re still waiting on promises made in past roadmaps to be delivered along with map issues to be resolved, br gaps to be filled, balancing changes to be made, bug reports to be actioned the list goes on… Meanwhile this auction house turns up out of the blue that literally noone wants but yourself under the cover of (this is for your benefit) when clearly it’s not. Honestly you’d have better chance selling ice to an eskimo than selling us the idea that this auction house is positive for the community.
Exactly, if they didn’t want stuff limited then they shouldn’t make it limited. They have control over it, it’s just a choice to make vehicles and skins scarce.
