Limiting the number of units available prevents the item from being devalued. Fewer units on the market will drive up the price. The smart approach is to purchase the item at a sensible price from the outset, hold onto it for 180 days.
Example
Observe who sells, and then wait an additional 6 to 9 months until the item becomes scarce. Once it’s limited, you can put it back on the market for a much higher price, like 1000+.
This is why it’s important to wait at least a year before listing the item again—fewer available units mean a bigger return.
Most console players understand that restrictions by Sony/MS don’t allow us to participate in the marketplace, enable us to get certain items available to PC players. Gaijin has now released the auction which is PC exclusive.
Is there any information that you can share about any work being done by the team for something exclusive for console players? Skins, decorations, anything?
I would rather see Gaijin swallowing the MS and Sony cut and open up the Marketplace for consoles (they’ll still make money) instead of countering this with even more exclusivity.
Maybe I’m thinking too simple now, but it seems more like a principal stance of Gaijin than a technical challenge.
Thank you very much for passing on this vision that I had not observed. It makes a lot of sense.
But my doubt remains regarding the beginning of the period to count the time of 1 year.
(i) Does the 1 year count start when the item goes up for auction?
(ii) Does the 1-year count start when the item becomes available on the market, i.e. only after 180 days?
If the count starts according to option (i); then you don’t actually have 1 year, but 5 months. Since, when the item can enter the market to be sold by whoever won the auction, there will only be 5 months left until it can reappear in trophies or otherwise.
I believe that the 1 year count should start after the 180 days established.
That’s my question and it’s not clear and transparent to the players. If you find this reference in the original post, please point me to the text.
I don’t remember this being on any of the road maps that the playerbase gave feedback towards… Therefore that’ll be a fat NO from me, implement what we’ve asked for first before wasting anymore time on features like this NOBODY ASKED FOR.
Spitting straight facts, doesn’t matter how much they try and sell this system EVERYONE can see right through the bs, and the verdict is already in WE DON’T WANT IT.
My issue with this is the devs knew console players couldnt participate in this. Instead of finding a way to include that portion of the playerbase they decided to go ahead and move forward with this anyway.
Its tiring being treated as second class in this game.
