Meet the Auction!

They are already copying vehicle… So camo or not …

there is an online game that has been around for almost 20 years, and has always had an internal auction system with coins inside the game. Is it so difficult to copy something that already exists and works well? World of Warcraft.

it’s normal for those who have been playing for more years to have more SL… but maybe they’re unlucky with drops and have millions but can’t spend them, whereas a new player maybe has luck with a drop but doesn’t have SL to buy things in the game… in this case he can sell the drop for many SL, fix his finances in the game and a veteran can spend his SL which would otherwise be useless.

and in any case for both it remains the shortcut of the golden eagles if they want.

they all lived happily ever after.

I’m sorry but this is just tone deaf, “Hey our own currency is free, you just have to grind for hours on end for 2 weeks straight, isolating yourself from your family and any other commitments like other hobbies or a job to get a coupon to sell for 20GJN, or you can just skip all of that and buy our currency”

In that case the new player should have to earn the silver lions by playing the game, they also wouldn’t miss out on anything if Gaijin’s whole system depends on predatory FOMO behaviour.

And again the predatory FOMO strikes again, people have jobs, hobbies, family and friends which they can’t just drop for this game.

If you read through the thread instead of jumping the gun like most people do, You’ll know i posted my concern about it.

Which was my point about the suggestion / comment about changing it to a SL auction? People will miss out either way. I feel you missed my point entirely.

Coin that can only be brought into circulation by someone paying, and will be cut off by 15% through each transaction.

There is no way to morally justify artificial rarity in auctions for an audience of kids.

We released the Auction with the intention of making it an experimental feature, aimed to support community content creators. The items that will be offered for sale will be made by content creators and the authors of these items will get a percentage from the total sales as a reward.

We may add other cosmetic items besides the ones currently available during the Auction testing period. The purpose of the Auction is to provide an opportunity to purchase cosmetic items of interest without having to rely on luck, as well as to give authors the opportunity to receive a reward that corresponds to the demand for the items they create.

Not a pourcentage, 100% .
And are you going to put vehicles ?

How long until the “community content” will include community created vehicles like the recent Swiss P-16 which coincidentally has been removed from the store?

Or better yet a “content creator” (someone on the dev team) makes a vehicle which in no time at all will be sold in the auction with all of the money going back to Gaijin.

Again looking at the past actions of Gaijin it is inevitable that they do something like this. There is a clear history of anti-consumer/predatory behaviour from Gaijin and this only adds to it.

Also it’s great to see that after all the backlash the only response is a regurgitated comment from the initial announcement, no questions answered, no concerns or criticism responded too either.

I’d actually suggest a different system. Rather than making an auction to use predatory artificial scarcity, add GE camouflages made by content creators to the game directly. Content creators can then get a share of each sale of their camouflages.

This allows for more camouflages in game, makes them available to all players including consoles and doesn’t pressure players by artificial rarity or bring us closer to the dumpster fire that would ensue if there were vehicles auctioned.

If it’s supposed to be limited time camos, even that is fine, but the artificial scarcity and overly inflated prices shouldn’t stay.

(Sorry for language, but I just don’t see an auction providing any player benefit that couldn’t be achieved without the negatives)

As we said we’ve should have gotten a poll or pre-warning of this, the fact you’ve straight up added it without asking us. You knew it would get a bad reaction. Most people are against this so remove it.

Not luck dependant just deep pockets, people will buy high to outbid then 180 days later put it on the market for £2000

you guys get the double dip, and your happy with the result

It would also be reassuring to get a confirmation that there will never under any circumstance be vehicles auctioned off with artificial scarcity that can’t at least also be bought for a fixed price and/or earned by completing reasonably achievable challenges.

It’s very concerning that this is even an option, so having that risk denied officially would be very nice

M8 gaijin promises are like hoping a tadpole won’t turn into a frog lmao

And you needed to create an auction house especifically for that?

Wouldn’t a “in game crate” do the same thing? Or even selling the content creators skins through your own store and give them a cut from there sort of you like you already for the esports skin packs?

If the whole point is to sell cosmetics and share the income with the creators, how is LIMITING the items with ridiculous prices the way to do so?

By the looks of it you are creating a monopoly in where whoever has the most money can inject that into whatever “project” this is. Plus there’s no transparency here because we can’t see who is BIDDING, so for all we know it could be rigged from the start.

100 of each for pixels gaijin could literally provide billions of those without any cost for gaijin
But nope make it expensive has …

I know, but no Gaijin promises are even worse.

If they outright refuse to deny it, chances are it’ll happen soon

Then you should place a BUYOUT at about 10gjc max, but if you dont set a buyout, this is what happens

Also before I forget this… That’s just horrible. The “demand” is making it artificially rare. The great thing about digital content is that it can be copied infinitely, so limiting the numbers is artificially driving up demand for the sake of increasing prices.

That’s the definition of predatory marketing…

We have kids aged 12 and up presented with artificial rarity specifically aimed to make them feel a fear of missing out, pushing them to spend money. This should be changed
