Meet the Auction!

Personally, as long as it’s only unhistorical skins and PFP decals/effects being auctioned then I see no reason to stop people wasting their money in this way.

Opinion definitely changes when we get to historical/semi-historical skins and decals though. The system we have for distributing these is fine.

I will riot if, god forbid, gaijin start doing vehicles like this.

why bother making a game when you could just ask player to throw money at you

I give it until the summer update until Gaijin starts putting vehicles in there, they will start with low tier premiums, then old event vehicles and unobtainble vehicles like the Esports P-40 or removed vehicles from the TT’s, then they will start climbing up the ranks until we start seeing brand new vehicles being put into the auction before the game.

Saying this should make me sound stupid and mad but looking at Gaijin’s past it’s completely believable. When ideas go from sounding mad to inevitable is when you know the game is going to crash and burn.

I believe this is a very negative direction to go in, and will alienate 99.9% of the playerbase. I am sure some will not care right now but there will be a time where there will be something you really want and will not be able to afford it due to lack of availability. Not to mention this feels like getting the bird if your lower or middle class income wise. I really do believe there are better ways to generate revenue if thats the only concern here

Come on, this game’s business model is already way too predatory.

I can just see it now, limited time vehicles at 100 pieces (YF-23 for example) put on the auction and people are forced to compete with prices going over 500 gaijin coin…

Truly innovate stuff guys! so glad all the most recent bugs (let alone the long standing ones) where fixed alongside this monetisation effort… wait, they where not…

Idea to gaijin:
Fire whoever came up with this idea

the issue is as with many issues in this area, that gambling etc is often defined by getting something out, that has monetary value. Which online games avoid, by having stuff like the Gaijin Coin, which isn’t a real currency, but is basically the same

Could you please stop the constant poking for all the possible predatory monetization schemes until you find one that won’t lend you another boycott. How about instead improving the game if you want people to spend more money? I know it’s hard to comprehend for the suits

Do they actually read every single message we leave there? Godspeed to them cause it will be a lot.

Yes, Staff will read all of the comments, it does help if Feedback is constructive…

But, overall Feedback can be passed to Developers

I would not have an issue with the auction system if it stayed selling skins but we all know that’s not the case and if this is the way gaijin will bring back old event vehicles i have to say that i am mega disappointed.

You should put Gaijin’s shares up for auction

You can say that the community said NO to auction.
Even on reddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1igw841/say_no_to_auction_actually_its_only_skins_but/

Who asked for this a skin AUCTION?! For Christ’s sake, this has to be the most useless update ever

The auction is a new way to distribute player-created content. In addition to trophies, we’ll now select a few more pieces of work from those not included in them and release them to the auction in limited edition.

You liar, those “player created content” are not on the live.warthunder.com. So this mean that its only gaijin work. So, all money that are used will on only into your pocket.

It has only been one day… Staff / Devs will want to see more feedback on the matter, but what can help is constructive feedback on how it could be tweaked / adjusted

But, some players may even see things differently over a few days, so lets see how things go… Staff will more than likely respond about the news / feedback all in due time
