They are OP already in a WW2 setting. Having them being able to target an area on the map might give them a relevance in the game instead of just being a mask for gaps and poor implementation of certain nations.
Imagine if when scouting an enemy you can target it for an artillery team mate behind you with the map marker and he has the ability to select that area and fire on it with an auto rangefinder. He gets a kill and you get an assist without revealing yourself.
Makes more sense than spamming a WW2 arena with 60s junk that is only there because Gaijin cant be bothered to put in anything else. Might give Israel the lift it needs if nothing else.
They arent OP in any setting in their current implementation (except for the Vidar, of course). They have bad mobility, weak armor, usually a pretty long reload and a low muzzle velocity and tend to be big, easy targets.
Also, are you just gonna ignore stuff like the 15cm sig and Brummbar existing in WW2?
We have no plans currently to return these vehicles. Unlike the Maus that returns periodically for research, they were permanently removed from research: [Development] Changes and optimization in the German tech-tree - News - War Thunder
Means nothing when they are one shot killing enemies that normally have good armour at 6BR . Last time I played the 2S1 was on the Finland map.I just hid behind a rock in the middle of the map and took out Panther after Panther from the front at 500m as they rolled down the hill from spawn, just hitting that frontal armour with HE then ducking back in. Sure fire fantasy in the game until The artillery spam kicked.Fun for me ,a game killer for the German team. Make WW2 armour redundant and pointless.
Why ruin your own game Gaijin?
At least those were WW2 and play in the correct BR for the era.I have seen people at Top complain about WW2 rat vehicles spamming their game.Works both ways.
Anyway I feel like I am spamming the thread so I’m off ,been nice talking.
Nice to see a straight answer on here from an official.Respect Smin ,More of this.
Why are they being kept in the game, if being unrealistic is such a big deal?
They remain for those that researched them, as with all vehicles that are removed from research.
Naturally this means they will be present in battles an ever less amount over time.
We always avoid situations wherever possible that involves fully removing vehicles from ownership. To my knowledge, that’s never actually ever been done.
Lame
The cv90 tml was completely replaced by the cv90105
It’s really a shame they didn’t come back, I bet a lot of players would pay to get them back. but thanks for the answer Smin
I get that removing things entirely is something that should be avoided, but I really dont understand why these tanks (well, any of the hidden vehicles except for those that moved to other nations) arent being made available again.
The german trios fate also has me worried about the future of the Ho 229, R2Y2s and F16AJ.
I’m afraid Horten will also be removed. I’ll even start grinding the German aircraft
They don’t fit the historical accuracy that Gaijin doesn’t do : )
This is a case of a direct swap for a vehicle to correct the model for its stablizer. There was no direct swap or replacement for the Panther II 88mm and Tiger 105mm. They were not historical vehicles.
That’s the thing, the Tiger 105 and Panther II are hidden because they were deemed too unrealistic, but they aren’t unrealistic enough to warrant being removed?
And well, the Coelian just got thrown in there with the other two, even though it could have stayed, as its only offense is being only partially built (just like the Ho 229 and a bunch of other vehicles we have in the game right now).
Because at the time there was no suitble counterpart in tech tree.
Its nice from gajin to let the players who got them to keep them.
Even better knowing that the accounts with them are extremly rare and nobody will ever get them.
No amount of crying I hope will ever chnage that.
I dont understand why youa re so abssed with it? Is it because you never will have them and grinds your gears so much? Some one having somthing you will never obtain?
How is that a good thing?
This may be a pet peeve of mine, but I just hate it when there is perfectly useable content in games, but only a very limited amount of players gets to enjoy it. If they were just reskins I wouldn’t care, but they all are unique.
There are other hidden tech tree vehicles, but most of them got hidden because they were redundant, the rest were hidden because they used to be reserve vehicles and got replaced. Being unable to obtain those bothers me too, but at least with those nobody is missing out on anything.
The german trio is different, as they aren’t redundant and they didn’t get replaced. The Tiger 105 and Panther II got hidden for “realism” and the Coelian got hidden for no actual reason.
Hiding vehicles doesn’t make them less unrealistic. They could have replaced the Tiger 105 and Panther II with realistic Tiger and Panther variants, they could have removed them and reimbursed the people that had them, they could have kept them in the tech tree or they could have treated them like the Maus. The Coelian should just have stayed part of the tech tree, but as it has been hidden too, it should at least be treated like the Maus.
All they ended up doing by hiding them was making them more desireable. New players will find out about them eventually and will probably want to get their hands on them too. They would probably even pay for them.
So, here’s the question that keeps me up at night:
How can something be too unrealistic to be available to everyone, but at the same time not unrealistic enough to be removed from the game?
Because people used the most valuable curency in life there is to get them. Time. Gajin being Gajin did not invalidate there life curency by just taking it away.
Noble.
That doesn’t answer the question.
