To be fair you were already going faster than the F-5 can on the deck without having to fly in a straight line for a few minutes, so he just pulled off because he can’t catch you. Otherwise he would just be wasting his time.
@Stona_WT Originally, as per datamine information, this run was planned to start at 2026-08-18 13:00 up to 2026-08-25 15:00, so pretty much a week.
And then we had the delay which led you guys to release it in the 19th, running until the 24th, which is 5-ish days give or take.
Since Infantry CBT came up at the same time, could we get an extension of a few more days for Nuclear Escalation to make up for it?
I just played this mode, and it was fun! Tho I experience an imbalance in some jets in this BR. For example, there are jets still without countermeasures fighting jets with not only countermeasures but have radar capable of look down shoot down. Yes, it is annoying going against those jets, because they necessary don’t have to be in the furball and shoot you from outside the furball because they can. They don’t have to get close to anyone while everyone else have to at least get close to fight one another. For example, MiG23M, MiG23MF, AJS37, JA37C, AJ37, and MiG25PD should not be in this BR at all. These are the jets that doesn’t need to be at this BR range.
the point is that f5 can’t really intercept supersonics on strike missions or fighters that that choose not dogfight it and instead shoot other enemies
Yea hawk isnt strong but compared to s75 its just miles better, the s75 is so trash the missle fly straight for like five seconds then start guiding and thier quite slow too just change em for osa or sum
Ngl enemy and missile markers should be gone. It just amplifies op stuff like f5. While in sim I have chance to sneak on it in su25 and send missile, here I have like 0 chances because f5 can always see me and flare even r73 let alone r60 thanks to missile markers. Or I have to hope its stupid enough for headon.
Perhaps not gone completely, mb similar to night battles slider or different mode.
And if you spawn nuke the second you get spotted horde of all aspect su17 and mig21 head towards you and you can only accept your fate.
OSA is very short range. They could replace it with the S-125. Slighter shorter range than the S-75, but much more maneuverable. As for getting something with range more comparable to the hawk, I’m not really sure. They could probably just switch the current hawk missile (MIM-23B) for the MIM-23A which has shorter range, less maneuverability, and a smaller warhead.
Laughs in early seekers being fooled by rocket pods.
I think the mobile SPAAs should be replaced with something that has a search radar targetable by ARMs. Possibly the ZSU-37-2 for Russia, and the Gepard or the AMX-30 S DCA or something similar for NATO. It would also help to give a bit of warning, since they added a mechanic for the last run to make the spaas turn on their search radar when you get within 1.5x their range, so you would see their search pings on RWR before they shoot at you.
1 battle w/o booster, whole battle. Next battle with 150 = almost done battle. Gaijin?
Yea this mods is honestly unplayable and geniunely unfun because of the AI SPAA having aimbot and the vehicle diversity just being mig21/SU22 and A-10.
last iteration where the brackets had a BR bracket for hornets and one for planes just below was far more tolerable
The main problem with this task is that the performance of the aircraft is seriously unbalanced.
Let’s take a look at the main vehicles in the current mission.
The F5E has CM, a decent Rear-aspect IR AAM, excellent maneuverability, and excellent AG weapons. However, it has a very slow speed and its radar is completely useless.
The F8E has CM, a decent Rear-aspect IR AAM, and excellent maneuverability. However, it is very slow and the SARH AAM cannot be used at low altitudes. Its radar is almost ineffective at low altitudes.
The F4C has decent speed, and at least it can catch up with nuclear weapon vehicles. However, without the CM, the missiles are poor, the maneuverability is bad, and the radar is almost useless at low altitudes.
The F111A has good speed, a CM, and a MAWS. However, its maneuverability is poor, and the AIM9B is almost unable to hit anyone.
A6E, equipped with CM, equipped with All-aspects IR AAM, and has good AG weapons. But the speed is simply unacceptable.
A10A has a large number of CM, an All-aspects IR AAM, and excellent AG weapons. But the speed is simply unacceptable.
Sea Harrier is equipped with CM and has All-aspects IR AAM. But the speed is very slow.
AJS37, equipped with CM, equipped with All-aspects IR AAM, excellent speed, excellent AG weapons, and excellent radar. However, the maneuverability is poor.
MIG21BIS, equipped with CM, featuring All-aspects IR AAM, and boasting excellent speed. But the radar was of little use.
MIG23M is equipped with All-aspects IR AAM, excellent speed and a functional radar. However, at least a small amount of CM and SARH AAM performance is unreliable.
MIG25PD, equipped with CM, boasts excellent speed and features All-aspects IR AAM. However, it has poor maneuverability and the radar is unreliable at low altitudes.
SU17M4, with a large number of CM, excellent speed, equipped with All-aspects IR AAM, good maneuverability, and decent AG weapons.
Then let’s take a look at the uses of these aircraft in combat.
In air-to-air combat, the F5E and F8E are capable of ensuring their own survivability during defense and being able to defeat the majority of enemies during maneuvering, but they are unable to pursue high-speed targets.
The F4C is almost unable to survive attacks from most IR AAMs.
If F111A does not perform any maneuvers, it will not be shot down. However, once it performs any maneuver, it will definitely be shot down.
The A6E, A10A and Sea Harrier are capable of destroying any aircraft without CM that enter their firing range, but they are slow and can thus be bypassed.
AJS37, MIG21BIS, MIG23M, MIG25PD and SU17M4, they have the capability to destroy any aircraft without CM that enters their range. During the maneuver, they would inevitably be defeated by the F5E and F8U, but the F5E and F8U were unable to pursue them.
In air-to-ground operations, aircraft such as F5E, A6E, A10A, AJS37 and SU17M4 can carry AGM and engage in combat with ground forces. The other aircraft could only use unguided ammunition for combat.
When intercepting nuclear vehicles, the F5E and F8E can only launch attacks from the rear and the side, and their speed cannot catch up with the SU7. They only have the chance to catch up with the Jaguar.
The F4C and F111A can launch attacks from the rear and have the chance to catch up with the SU7.
The A6E, A10A and Sea Harrier are capable of using the AIM9L to destroy SU7 or Jaguar within their range from any angle. But their speed made it possible for them to be bypassed.
The AJS37, MIG21BIS, MIG23M, MIG25PD, and SU17M4 are capable of destroying any SU7 or Jaguar that enters their firing range from any angle, and their speed also enables them to catch up with the SU7 or Jaguar.
In the current battle, most of the time the United States and Germany were on one side, while the others were on the other side. In air-to-air combat, both American and Russian fighter have their own advantages, but the decision-making power in the battle lies with the Russian fighter jets.
When intercepting nuclear vehicles, American fighter were almost completely ineffective. They had to rely on the German MIG21BIS, MIG23MF, and SU22M4. And Jaguar would surely be killed in any confrontation with any Russian fighter.
M163 is insane in this mode, I cannot fly within 3km without getting beamed meanwhile if i got a guy on my tail and fly over friendly SZU-23’s they don’t do anything
The shorad is just untenable in this version. Ground radars of such spaa of the era should not have the radar power to intercept munitions at all. But if it must stay, then consider that gun based interception is much harder to deal with for the lack of reloading missile tubes.
And its not even a believable behavior since they will ignore a 500kg dumb bomb, but will intercept a kab500 tv guided bomb.
I believe BVV_d said in one of the NE update posts that adding reaction time and targeting accuracy errors are in the works.
they need that ASAP as 3/4 of my deaths are to a M163 from several KM away
I feel like the br brackets should both be bumped up by .3. That would make it 8.7-10.0 for the bottom bracket and 10.3-11.3 in the top one. This way, the flareless planes are all separated from the all aspect AAMs (aside from a few really bad SARH missiles), and there are some more useful planes for the top bracket.
You kinda slip the point with the Viggen.
The AJS is only gonna carry 3x or 4x RB75 because AI will shoot down one or more ordinance. It also runs out of fuel too be on the field long ago to worry about nuke bombers with 9L.
You’re gonna grab them with a rear aspect missile anyways so the 9L is a moot point.
Regardless you sacrifice being an effective CAS jet if you try to get a 9L on that load out. Or are you gonna tell me one kill on ground units and then a base RTB in on par with a vehicle like the F-5E which has essentially the same loadout for CAS except 1 more ground missile and a internal gun and more flares?
Seriously any nuke plane is gonna suffer against any vehicle with missiles
Hell I’d argue this is even better than the Viggen same A2A loadout but rather than 3 guided missiles I can carry 9x 1000lb bombs, sure it’s slower and bleeds speed faster but I do get internal guns and CMs
People seem to constantly forget the AJS is limited to 6 very restrictive hard points that if you try to multirole with 9L makes you suffer on the CAS aspect
Want a gun? Then no you lose the extra 9L or RB75. Want Countermeasures then no gun, missile or RB75 on that pylon
Regardless the main opponents you fight all have flares and the F-5s require getting very close to get a good lock on. Which if you go all in on the missiles route you’re just asking to get nothing done
Spot on. AJS can’t multirole at all in this mode, it’s limited by hardpoints and armament placements.
