It’s what I was here to say as well, the 11.0s and all aspects are wrecking the balance
So far I found this iteration the most fun and feel quite a bit more balanced. However there are still a few problems.
For starters the spaa’s feel way too accurate in particular the m163 and the zsu-23-4V. In the case of the m163 I don’t think it should be effective at shooting down incoming munitions as it doesn’t have a search radar. I think the turret traversel of both the Shilka and the VADS should get slowed down as it feels they both instantly snap to your location.
I also think moving the BR upper limit from 11.0 to 11.3 would be a good idea. That way we will have more options to counter the MIG-25 and in the case of the US the F-4E will become available (vietnam era).
As others have pointed out the AV-8B (NA) should then be added to the ban list due to it carrying JSOW’s.
I do however think both MIG-27’s should stay banned due to them having the KH-31.
I do agree. But i also understand that Vietnam was a war from 1955 - 1975 (1973 if you are only going with U.S. involvement.) The way I would try to help fix the balance would be to change the BR brackets. 8.7 - 9.7, 10.0 - 10.7, and 11.0 to 11.3. This would largely fix the problem with all aspects as, bar the A-10A and SU-25, aircraft with all aspect missiles would be at the top bracket facing off against aircraft with Countermeasures. Heck I would say up the br range to 11.7 but there you get alot more aircraft with GNSS bombs and glide bombs, along with more aircraft like the SU-25SM3, A-10C, with all aspect IRCCM missiles.
BR11.7 is now facing another issue - the PD radar is only equipped in a few countries. Ultimately, it will return to BR11.0-12.0.
I heard the F117 stealth is working good in here.
fully laden stock f111a has to take off from main base lol
I’m going to be honest, no BR bracket change is ever going to fix the tech imbalance around this era unless Gaijin completely reworks or even abandons the BR system. Stuff jumps around in efficacy too much, so you’re always going to have edge cases that will dominate.
However, the more posts I’ve read here, the more I’m becoming convinced the main issue is that everyone wants to play their way, leading to moments that are essentially “thinking inside the box” instead of using what we’ve got to deal with issues. Been using Zunis in a Thunderchief to take out static SPAAGs from just outside engagement range as much as I’ve been using them in place of flares.
Genuinely not intending to throw shade at anyone, I just want to point out what I’m seeing, and unlike a certain Frenchie, I am going to be impolite and interrupt someone when they’re making a mistake.
BTW
Like said, I would suggest it but it does cause a lot more problems in turms of what can be added, and what gets forbidden.
In all honesty this conversation just shows how much this game need to overhaul the br system or implement a separate br system for Nuclear Escalation. As just with 11.3 you have the F-4E with Aim-9J and Aim-7E-2 facing aircraft like the jaguar IS with magic-2 missiles and SU-39 with R-73 missiles.
good to see there was barely any improvements
Na man, your cool, and i completely agree.
I just hate that currently to play the top br bracket is ether to play an 11.0 with countermeasures, or get hit by a r-40rd/r-60m while trying to do anything.
I think a better approach would be to decouple the ammunition from the aircraft in some specific scenarios. For example, in a 60s environment, F4J can only use AIM9D and AIM7E or AIM7E2. However, in a 70s environment, it can use AIM9G/H and AIM7E2 or AIM7F. This way, some aircraft with higher BR can be allowed to participate in suitable battles by reducing the number of weapons.
W take of someone who is not crying about AA to cope with their skill issue.
Honestly the AJ/S-37 might be your best bet if you have it. I ran with it and had a decent time.
CAP is pretty useful especially intercepting nukes since they don’t have flares. Fast enough to catch almost everything.
CAS works fine too aside from the ground SPAAs intercepting everything.
You do have to sacrifice one munition or two for a Cm pod, gunpod or both though.
Missiles and radar won’t lock onto anything. The only thing that they can lock onto is chaff and flares. also, AGMs (American Mavericks) won’t lock onto much, every now and then.
Is then nuke plane supposed to be the same at both BRs?
The entire client is affected on that front, not just NE. Devs are aware, as the Bug Forum is currently imploding.
M163s are still 4km death spheres that give 0 warning
