Maybe this will be fixed 2025?

Maybe 2025 will be different? This year has been non-stop punishment. 6 months of playing at least 50 matches a day, 47 of the 50 matches would end up with more than half of one of the teams leaving before the 5-minute mark.

The dev team needs to do something about this. I used to be only top-tier games plagued with wallet warriors running 1 premium vehicle, die, then return to hangar. This issue has crept down in 1.0 lobbies.

It’s all reward for players who do this and all punishment for players who actively try in games.

The easy fix is to deny RP, EXP, and SL to players who at least show 75% battle participation. Do some spot assists, repairs, etc, and it’s easy to achieve. This would hopefully force more teamwork within matches and discourage players rushing in just to die.

People one death leave because RP gets denied anyway and Gaijin keeps shoving garbage down the throats of new players that don’t know better because they don’t have a lineup.
This idea sucks.

Your 1st and 2nd picture don’t even have premiums on your team, they’re running TT vehicles.
Your 3rd photo has a couple premiums, but literally nothing you’re complaining about lmao.
You being premium with 5 kills 1 death.
Wolfpack has 2 kills and 2 deaths, still in the game.
The Pzbtl has 1 kill and 2 deaths, still in the game.
Phantom has 1 kill and 1 death, still in the game.
The Prem Chally has 1 kill and 2 deaths, respawned in.

I am not going past this, think about what you post please.

Reminds me of this:

People keep using “Premium Noobs” as a scapegoat to put all blame of everything on them when they are actually much less of an issue compared to what they are made out to be and it’s starting to infuriate me.

Yeah, its pretty funny. The “one death leavers” that are veterans VASTLY outnumber the newbies who “one death leave”. They have all sorts of biases that leads to leaving after one death.
When I was new, using the A1A1 L/44 to grind, I was always using backups, as you can get them from the warbond shop. Rarely would I leave after one death, as you don’t get as much XP as you normally would respawning and going.
leaving after one death for a new person is detrimental to their grind, and therefore they will not do it as much. They would also bring in a lower tier vehicle, but that’s another topic.

Exactly. Most of the people I’ve known to grind new trees with Premiums (including myself) do ANYTHING in their power to spawn as much as they can in order to maximize the grind.

It’s the Level 100 “mega-pro-veterans” with 8 vehicle lineups that only care about K/Ds that very often leave after one death, be it because they dislike the map, because they dislike being matched up along with/against certain nations, or straight up rage-quitting for whatever reason.

But even when it’s them, and even when it can be fact-checked on a screenshot, the blame always falls on the “Premium low level noobs”.

Of course there are newbies who leave after one death, I am not denying that- but they are only a fraction of the problem, not the entire problem like many people pretend them to be.

Yep. Spot on.
Honestly I had never tracked my K/D or W/L ratio. So it didn’t matter if people left after 1 death, nor would I be tracking my teammates on the scoreboard (unless I heard a Nuke sound).
Just get on, play the tanks you want, and enjoy yourselves a little bit. Its a video game.

Don’t make excuses for them, if you can afford 70 bucks for a premium tank and account buy some backups.

Some of them don’t know what they are, and I am sure that many War Thunder players (speaking from experience) would hoard these backups and not let 1 of the 1000 backups go to waste.
Same hoarding thing for buying backups, those Golden Eagles could have gone to 1/17th of a Pyorremyrsky.

Can we also bring content creators into this?

Know of so many of them that would spam a vehicle for the “perfect video”. Start of the match it does not go their way and they are out.

EDIT : Actually, can the “on air” guys be held accountable for this?

You have too high expectations from game that is focused on casual players. The only players you can count on are in your squad, the rest is roll of dice. Want more competitive gameplay? Ask for some form of ranked battles instead.

If you want to fix one death leaving, fix the ardous and ridiculous battlepass tasks.

I gave up on the battlepass and no longer bother grinding it out.
However, when I did…

“Hm, today I want to fly my F4U-4. I got 90 minutes to play today. But I also want that battlepass premium…”

“That medium task looks easy, just need 1 easy thing to do.”

“Hard task… impossible in ASB, but getting 3 wins in GRB…”

And thus, spawn in, rush enough score to qualify for activity% ASAP and go next battle by suiciding rather than respawning. Given the amount of 20-25 minute battles I’ve had that were decided by 100-200 tickets (normally my favourite and I want more of them), putting in my best to try and win games has too little impact for the time investment (20-25 minutes) over rushing 70-90% activity in 5-6 minutes and rapidly rerolling for that statisitcal 50% win rate.

Playing 3 games trying to guarantee wins is likely to take 60 minutes. We can accomplish 3 wins way faster than this.

Same idea for “Get N kills using a Rank 3+ SPG/heavy tank” and you can only find a line-up that contains only 1 SPG/heavy tank without uptiering another vehicle (say, KV-1 zis5 for heavy tanks). You get 3 kills in your first life and need 8. Either you respawn as a T-34 and spend 15 minutes NOT progressing the battlepass, use a back-up (of which you got a million for planes you’ll never use in a mode where backups work, universals you save for sl boosters in naval and nilch for your heavy tank) or… you go next. Crew lock doesn’t matter - you’re just spamming the Kv-1 zis5 or fv4005 or if you’re a german main trying to do the scouting task, that singular 6.7 light tank you have.

Gaijin pushing the Sturer to rank 2 is just going to make this far worse. SPG tasks I could finally do without ODLing by having a lineup of JgPzIv/Hetzer/Sturer that guaranteed the ability to get the 8 kills in 1 match as long as I didn’t plank too hard. The flakpanzer is too far from my playstyle to even bother trying. Idk if the M44 will be any functional replacement, I dislike HE SPGs.

Now add the practically-RNG tasks on top (Get “Supporting Fire/Teamwork” medals - if you didn’t get a squadmate, you should just 0DL. If you got a squadmate but they 1dl’d, you should too. If you got a squadmate but they’re… of questionable quality… you should 0dl.) Did you get the task that needs you to get first strike and someone got it instead? 0dl!

Have I mentioned I hate the way BP tasks are set up? It also gives perverse incentives to ARB too: Best way to get done with the “win N games” task is to suicide bomb bases and head-on enemies as it guarantees high activity and makes you gamble with statistics rather than play 20-25 minutes and still lose because you cannot win a 1vs4.

And in ASB they’re just dumb. Get assists. End up playing 90 minutes, do your damned best and somehow get 11 kills. 1 assist. You’re out of time. Even better: Get KC on strike planes (enemy doesn’t spawn a single strike plane in your lobby). Get KC on bombers (no bombers in your lobby/it’s actually a strike plane). Get fighter KC (sorry, it’s actually a strike plane/interceptor).

I like how you point out the exceptions and don’t add anything beneficial to the conversation. The fact so few players stay in the game is the main problem. Yes, I am calling out the premiums in my post because that is the common practice. These are just some of the only times I felt like screenshotting the scoreboard.

Blame the game not the gamers. I ain’t spawning a 2nd time just to be spawn camper half map or be bombed by a guy with 1 assist.

You need a damn amount of vehicles and rp/sl to get a full lineup. I play for fun, not to grind 24/7 so I will play the vehicle I want and later complete the line.

I’m playing some 7.0 stuff, get uptier, I’m not gonna fly 15km on my slow plane or face atgm helis in my 163

On 2nd ss lot of players with 0-2/3 kdr, some matches I don’t see the point to stay on an already lost game.

If you want try to fix the problem I would suggest -cheaper vehicle overall (even cheaper spaa).
-less air spam
-some kind of up tier limit ( my 9.0 planes facing missile spaa)
-unlimited spawns ?

Soo make the game more arcade and easier to play?

Remember when BF2042 removed skill-based play and ran RNG hits? Or when WoW made the game easier to the point where they had to release a whole (old) new game with a separate server system to bring back well over 2 million of its player base? Or when World of Warplanes lost majority of its player base over night cause they decided to make everything hard arcade? Or what about the fact that people play War Thunder for more realism and immersion?

Nah, lets not compare any other game or focus on the core of why the game exists in the first place. Lets just make it easy and give everyone participation trophies.

People stay in match longer to get more RP per minute.

Even if you’re tracking your W/L ratio that certainly won’t benefit from leaving the match after being unlucky in your first spawn or getting casd before being able to do a lot maybe because of not seing a lot of enemies (going to the wrong flank). using another spawn by going cheap spaa instantly if your team has none and protecting the people that had more luck to give them a chance to win the game and not having to care about cas that much wil benefit you W/L much more. It also has gotten me back into the game sp wise a lot of times since a lot of ppl dont expect capable spaa up early. so i dont get that reasoning. You’ll definitely win more games if you try (harder)

K/D also won’t change, if you’re unlucky in your first spawn in the vehicle you want to do well in you already died so it won’t affect this vehicles stats anymore?

Only exception would be you end up in tiny ass cornerfk cityfactory xy map and every exit of both spawns is already blocked, which is easily possible 2 minutes in (in higher tiers) since a lot of maps are about 1 km big. if half your team is gone already and the enemies have amassed enough sp to respawn 5 times or wipe the whole map with cas then there is really no point in trying

They like to pass it off as if the losing team doesn’t have anything to do with them lol it’s easier to blame someone else instead of admitting their own ass also at fault or incompetence, the greatest human trait as a whole.

And that’s without counting the guys who drop smoke bombs at spawn (I’m leaving directly), the allies who don’t know how to ping on the map, those who crash into you when you’re taking a shot, etc etc etc etc

You get 5k RP for staying until the end and winning a match with 13 kills.
It’s faster to just get 2 kills and dip.
