All of us, if not most of us, find that at an altitude of 12,000 or perhaps a little higher, the planes lose most of their speed and start descending again. In tank simulation matches, the same situation occurs. If you are against an S1, it can easily shoot you down from this altitude. So what if this limit was cancelled? For example, the maximum altitude of the F15 is 30,000, and many planes can fly at altitudes higher than 20,000. Also, canceling the maximum altitude limit in plane simulation matches will help in BVR. So what do you think?
It’s definitely starting to feel like an antiquated limit, with the ever increasing service ceiling of aircraft we’re receiving.
Maybe some sort of technical / engine limitation? Maybe it’s just to balance the ultra-high performance stuff from being untouchable (I.e if it’s a GR7 vs F-15 left alive 1v1).
Not sure. But its definitely weird that you can tear around in an F-15E/I at 10k Mach 2+, but you go just 2k metres higher and you completely stall out.
it is really for balance but this game is supposed to somewhat simulate reality. The altitude limit for modern aircraft should be raised to 20,000 for example because while an aircraft like the F-15E reaches an altitude of 12,000 and begins to fall at the same time, the F-4E also reaches 12,000 and begins to fall as well, and the difference between the two aircraft is huge.
It’s the same with the red lines in GRB,they are trying to force you all together onto a tiny play area.
yes, with missiles lofting realistically, the hight limit of ca 25 km is to low, but what you wrote at 12 km etc is just the air getting thinner^^
Remeber the density of the air is inversely exponential to how high you are
I know that point here, in my opinion, the unrealistic limits should be cancelled, even if on some vehicles, as I mentioned, an aircraft such as the F-16C at an altitude of, for example, 4000 in a ground support mission is a quick way to death, and it does not happen in reality. I know that the range of the missiles in the game is less than the real one and the maps are small, but fixing the altitude to 12000 is low on modern aircraft.
Unfortunately, this is sad.
First off, F-15s cruise at 15,000 meters.
Second, maximum altitude =/= maximum speed.
Third, the altitude limit is 25,000 meters currently and has been for years.
Yes, F-15s can go to 20,000 meters, they will not be going above mach 2 anymore.
Blame God for the laws of physics.
