yes, thats the only thing maus is scared arond that ratings. THo without LRF its not that easy to shoot the weakspots on it.
I myself used to tend to use T30 when i met Maus when it was 7.7
then it would shoot you, or its team would shot you. Its not that complicated fr.
Maus was unstoppable force at 6.7, i cant get around it being able to meet 6.3
I mean okay, you would capture the point where maus istn. But then you need to get to the point where it is. And its not that easy to do, especially when someone drags around Maus for support
You know what can stop it? A hill. MAUS is pretty strong on a maps without flanking routes, which we have like 1? 0? The unkillable wall playstyle of maus requires you to keep distance - which makes you a dead asset for the team and an easy target for CAS. It’s strong, don’t get me wrong. Not stronger than is-4m though. Upsides and downsides, you know. I never argued for a battlerating drop, but cutting it’s uptiers at 8.0 would help a lot.
Being serious, steep hills maybe. But on most maps maus has no problem slowly gettion over hills :/
No it doesnt?
I usually play maus on +w, shortening the distance as much as i could. And i have 3kd ratio with it.
Meeting 6.7 made maus stay on damaged tracks and with no gun, but that made an entire enemy team at that flank shoot at least once at it.
i would easilly disagree with it tho. IS-4 is more comfy, but except of mobility it is in no way stronger than maus. Longer reload, worse ammunition, less survivability with similar (if not less) armor capabilities. Shiet even the turrer rotation of maus is better xD
AND maus has two cannons!
yea, thats no doubt. Tho i think what will help better is making maus only play small maps. Like really - it feels best at maps like American Desert, Middle East, ect., at least at my opinion.
I mean, the only complaint I really have is when you play MAUS, you know. But then you hear Fortunate Son echoing from afar. Feels like you suddenly became a character from one of “those” books.
agreed as I was on the eastern Europe map I think it was the other day and I was In a 6.7 down tier I was the only Maus In the game and I was single handedly holding down A. I almost got a nuke just from taking hits until a centurion finally rolled up and shot me on the side killing me
The Maus is fine at 7.7, no need to bring it down to 7.3.
It’s a super heavy with a good gun. If you learn the playstyle, make use of the 2 cannons and angel your armour, you can make a big differance in a match!
I wouldn’t say it’s in a terrible spot but I think there is merit in the argument here.
A lot of vehicles have been added over the years especially around 6.0-6.7 and a lot of them have HEAT-FS shells that can easily penetrate the Maus if you’re an inexperienced player and do not position yourself correctly in the battle.
I’ve been playing it more recently and can say fairly definitively it is impossible to play if you’re up-tiered higher than 8.3 since above-average skilled players will know to target you with their superior ammunition.
Every nation has vehicles that have at least one or two, some even more with a HEAT-FS shell that is 250-300mm cumulative jet. Mind you Germany is still the one faction severely under-handed when it comes to receiving anything decent to fit the BR bracket with HEAT-FS shells right after they increased the Ru-251 for little to no reason other than the M47 has a similar BR and they use the same gun, but entirely different chassis’ and armor profiles.
Point is, Germany certainly is in a terrible state with the newer BR placements that keep being pushed, and it’s also not just Germany. Strv-103, Object 906 two grand examples of vehicles that have been just utterly destroyed.
Even if the Maus was lowered to 7.3 there wouldn’t be much of an issue with the placement, in fact it would create decompression by separating the super heavy from Rank VI where DM13 and DM23 are present which nullify the Maus completely.
Maus has been at 7.7 for a long while now, all the while many vehicles above it moved up in BR, allowing it to be less impacted by uptiers. As it is right now, it should be going up to 8.0 as it has way too good stats for a vehicle that’s played so much and that’s also available to the general population.
Even when Maus craze was at it’s peak in November, it still definitely overperformed at 7.7.
If you wanna ask for any German vehicle to go down in BR, you should probably focus on the Leopard I. I rarely see anyone do anything productive in it. Generally, when I’m uptiered to 8.0, the Leopard I are the first ones out of the game (strangely high amount of one death leaving with them, also - maybe it’s the shame).
Leo 1 mostly suffers from map rotation and the fact that so many people try to play it like a Panther instead of a light tank and/or play it with no lineup.
Technically the Maus and PzH have the German M48 for company, but man… Most aggressively uninteresting vehicle ever, at least for me. Let’s hope the area gets some padding in the future.
I don’t play it anymore because it’s getting bombed way too often, like in order to have some fun I need to entertain CAS players like I owed them money… Some CAS degenerates even suggesting that my Maus get bombed because of my lack of awareness, “you can hear planes from miles away bro” like what a Maus gonna do? Jesus I gonna find that dude’s comment lol
Well, you do have an awesome reverse speed. I’ve trolled plenty of bombers with it that way. Granted it’s true that the Maus became easier to kill with bombs a while ago, compared to what it was before. But look, at that BR if you don’t have friendlies covering the skies you’re in trouble anyway, no matter what tank you’re using.
