I’m a War Thunder ground player.
I really love this game, its mechanics, and everything else, but this matchmaker is infuriating.
I ended up in full uptier in 9 consecutive matches:
3 matches in 5.7—full uptier
3 matches in 10.7—full uptier
3 matches in 9.3—full uptier
I simply don’t understand the logic behind this, and how the developers can be so blind.
Even the notoriously shitty Wargaming has realized that this kind of matchmaking is so disappointing for players, yet based on the interview, the lead dev guy just doesn’t get it…
The matchmaker should take longer—I’d rather wait 10 seconds than get thrown into a full uptier in less than a second.
It’s horrifying.

The last 2 days maybe i played 20-30 games, i swear at least 80-90% of it was full up tier. Uptier should shrink down to 0.3 from ±1.0 br, that is the only reasonable solution.
I’d rather wait a couple of minutes for matchfinding than going into and wasting 10-20 minutes in a completely unbalanced match.
Something has to change, that’s for sure.

There should also be a balance in teams i see russians paired a lot with germans that is a very deadly combo which results that us teams top tier lose in 5 to 10 mins max… ;)

Personally i think there needs to be a massive overhall with matchmaking, from the br range to the actual servers.
I feel like majority of the time im facing uptiers no matter what br i play. Some BR give mroe downtiers than others but for the majority im always .7 to a full uptier. I have no idea why but when i play with NA friends that number usually goes down and get downtiers more frequently.
In terms of actual servers, what is the point in having the server selection option if (being an eu player) im facing constant none eu players that will have 200/300 ping. The servers netcode is already horrific in dealing with players in the same region so add that stupid ping onto it and its what leads to the broken gameplay imo. (and the main none eu communities you find on eu servers are the ones that are most responsible for cheating but thats a different problem). Iwould love to see more servers added so West EU/ East EU etc then just remove the server selection and do what quite literally every single multiplayer matchmaking game does and do it automatically.
