Matchmaking still trash after 12+ years of this game

Here you have one of the keys to why there is so much ODL. And not only that, the fact that gaijin has decided on the garbage maps that he has been making lately also means that when you play in unbalanced games in which more than half of the opposing team are 1.0 Br above you, the only thing you do in the game is give easy points to those players, since while in large maps there is more space to flank and be able to destroy enemies from the side, in Counter strike maps you often find tanks in front, and when you have to shoot at a small specific point while the enemy shoots at you in bulk, well we all know how it will end.

exactly.

To what sentence you are referring regarding the MM?

Section 88:

(88)

Providers of very large online platforms and of very large online search engines should also be diligent in the measures they take to test and, where necessary, adapt their algorithmic systems, not least their recommender systems. They may need to mitigate the negative effects of personalised recommendations and correct the criteria used in their recommendations. The advertising systems used by providers of very large online platforms and of very large online search engines can also be a catalyser for the systemic risks. Those providers should consider corrective measures, such as discontinuing advertising revenue for specific information, or other actions, such as improving the visibility of authoritative information sources, or more structurally adapting their advertising systems. Providers of very large online platforms and of very large online search engines may need to reinforce their internal processes or supervision of any of their activities, in particular as regards the detection of systemic risks, and conduct more frequent or targeted risk assessments related to new functionalities. In particular, where risks are shared across different online platforms or online search engines, they should cooperate with other service providers, including by initiating or joining existing codes of conduct or other self-regulatory measures. They should also consider awareness-raising actions, in particular where risks relate to disinformation campaigns.

Thx in advance!

I agree too - but i want to share another perspective on your observations:

  1. Imho gaijin tries everything they can to eliminate actual skill as decisive factor for the outcome of matches. This seems logical as the majority of wt players are highly motivated, but also highly inexperienced. As these players are the main target group for gaijin (shooter driven minors) - as they are responsible for the most income - it would reduce their willingness to spend (further) money if they got clapped by a few veteran players every match.
  2. In other words: The more experienced you become, the more obstacles you have to face; otherwise gaijin would lose money.
  3. Imho WRs have a complete differently meaning for players and gaijin. Whilst players tend to see a kind of confirmation of skill attached to higher than average WRs, gaijin follows the path to the Holy Grail of all MMOs game developers: Perfect balance if the majority sits on 50% WR.
  4. Technically seen steam roll effects happen irl too - even if identically strong forces with similar combat effectiveness face each other. As soon as one side loses quantity or equal strength they will lose a battle (google Lanchesters laws). This process is just artificially increased by gaijin as they are interested in rather short matches as this reduces (on average) SL & RP income and slows down player progress.

Have a good one!

The problem with dumbing down the game for new players makes it a lot easier for veteran players to murder the new players. I can always tell when I’m in a match with a bunch of new players because it definitely gives you a God complex cuz you basically roll around the map out on a whim and blow everybody away. My other issue is the game play differences like playing on a console versus playing on the computer. Computer players routinely murder me because they can see me and I can’t see them at all. I run an Xbox x s with a 4K TV and I literally get murdered by guys who I cannot even see on the map. I can also tell you using controller versus keyboard there’s a big difference I have to use a joystick to Center my gun over the Target and these guys Point click and fire there’s no contest.
